I am Nishali. I celebrate Deepavali. Deepavali is
also known as festival of lights. During this
festival, we will light oil lamps outside the house
because it will bring good luck to us. Our
traditional costumes are known as Saree and
Jippa. My favourite traditional food is Thosai and
Murukku.
I am Ainnur. My family and I celebrate Hari
Raya Aidilfitri every year. It is celebrated by
the Muslims after a month of fasting. We will
wear our traditional costumes, which is Baju
Kurung and Baju Melayu to visit our relative’s
house. I love eating Malay traditional food like
Ketupat, Nasi lemak and Lemang. They are my
favourite.
I am Lim. Our main festival is Chinese
New Year. It is celebrated in January or
February. During this festival, the children will
receive angpows or red packet from elders.
Our traditional costumes are called Samfoo
and Cheongsam. My favourite traditional food
is Tang Yuan and rice dumplings.
My name is Evelyn and I am an Iban. Our main
festival is Gawai Dayak. It is celebrated every
year on Ist June to mark the end of the harvest
season. Our traditional costumes are called
Sirat for the men and Ngepan Iban for the
women. There is also a beauty contest during
Gawai Festival. The winner is crowned as
Kumang Gawai.
Complete the table.
3. ________
________
However, the reading skill was not much focus in this lesson where the reading part
was only given 18 minutes. Therefore, the teacher should plan more activity in while reading
such as answering Multiple choice question. This will ensure the pupils refer to the text in order
to find the correct answer. Another weakness for today lesson is the pupils take times to copy
the interview table. Hence, the teacher should provide the template to pupils to save time.
Overall, the teacher’s learning objective is achieved where the pupils able to read and
complete the table by filling in at least 9 out of 15 blanks correctly in the worksheet given and
interview their friends with teacher guidance.
