STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Nowadays, many Junior High School Students choose to be a TVL

Students for their Senior High School because they want to have a job ready

skill that they will need in future. According to Karl Nicole Nucum (October

24, 2018), ‘’ The Technical Vocational Livelihood or TVL Track is one of the

tracks offered under Senior High Schoool programs in the Philippines. It is

designed to provide students with job-ready skills that they will need in

future.’’

The goal of this research is to gather the views and opinions of being a

TVL Students.

However, it will be difficult to gather the views and opinions of a TVL

Students. Because of the availability.

The importance of our research is that it will determine the views and

opinions of TVL Students of Tacloban Central Institute of Technical Studies

Inc. ( TCITS).
 CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

According to Yagami R. Writer (Jan 30 2018), ‘’Senior High School

program is the implementation of additional two years in the tertiary

education. This additional two years, Grade 11 and Grade 12, were added to

the previous curriculum to help the students prepare for their tertiary

education. The students can freely choose from the offered tracks and get

their SHS diploma by the end of the program.’’ Senior high school has 4

tracks. The Academic, Art and Design, Sports and TVL TRACK ‘’The Technical

Vocational Livelihood or TVL Track is one of the tracks offered under Senior

High School programs in the Philippines. It is designed to provide students

with job-ready skills that they will need in future. Technical-Vocational-

Livelihood track deals primarily with technical-vocational skills or techni-voc.

These skills are requirements for the Certificate of Competency (COC) and

National Certifications (NC) that you will need especially if you are looking for

a career in electronics, agriculture, or trading. https://blogedukasyon.ph . One

of the school that offer TVL Track is TCITS. Tacloban Central Institute of Technical

Studies Inc. They are TESDA partners and a assessment center. They also offer

TVL Track and Gas for Senior High School.

Thus, this leads the researches to conduct this study to show the

views and opinions of a TVL Student of TCITS.

 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

 School - This research will help the school to improve their teaching

technique.

 Students - This research will help the student to think for their career /

future.

 Parents - This research will help the parents to help their children to choose

their future career and future track.

SCOOP AND DELIMINATION

This study will be dealing the view and opinion of TVL Students of the

TCITS . We not gather the views and opinion of those who chose GAS in

Senior High School Track of Senior High School in TCITS.

RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS

Many students loved being a TVL student in TCITS because TCITS is a

fully equip and ready for Senior High School.

 CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

This chapter deals with the methodology that will be employed in the

study. This discussion includes the description of the research design, the locale of

the study, respondents of the study, the sampling technique, the instrument used,

the data gathering procedures and the analysis of the data that will be gather.

SAMPLING

As the researchers gather the data by using the survey , the researchers will

use the Random sampling. The Random sampling is a way of selecting a sample of

observations from a population in order to make inferences about the population.

For example, exit polls from the voters that aim to predict the likely result of an

election. Random sampling is also known as probability sampling. (Tim Bock, 11 July

2018)

DATA COLLECTION

Our respondents for this research will be the senior high school

students in TCITS who choose to be in TVL Track.

The researchers will include all the TVL students in Tacloban Central

Institute of Technical Studies Inc. here in Tacloban City.

 ETHICAL ISSUES

Before the researchers begin the research process, the researcher will

be secure a permission to the school administration of TCITS to under-take this

research and also to the research teacher for the process. The researcher prepared

a 20 items questionnaire but before the implementation starts, the TVL Students in

TCITS will be having a brief orientation from the researchers to give them a

knowledge what is the purpose of the study. The respondents will be given a 30

minutes to finish.

PLAN OF DATA SAMPLING ANALYSIS

Random Sampling. According to Adam Hayes (April 30, 2019) ‘’ A

simple random sample is a subset of a statistical population in which each member

of the subset has an equal probability of being chosen. A simple random sample is

meant to be unbiased representation of the group.’’

 CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

According to Weiner (2009), “K-12 program will bring big change in different

schools and it needs support from the whole organization and therefore, everyone

must be prepared to its implementation so that it will succeed.” As it is cited the K-

12 program will give everyone a big change to everyone and as of now the K-12 is

really a big change some people hate this idea.

According to Lis Fortun (2018), “Choosing to take subjects in the Home

Economics track can also lead you to National certifications that are recognized by

TESDA, which means you can start working right after senior high school.” Some of

the students who graduated as a senior high school cant apply because for some

work they are not graduated in collage but because of NCll or National Certificate

some students has been given the opportunity to work.

According to Chung and Yet (2009), “Having good credentials and

appropriate degree program does not guarantee employment as present

industries today are looking for technical expertise or ‘’hard skills’’ at the same time

they are counting candidates ‘’employability skills’’ or ‘’soft skills.’’ In this

generation of employment/ in our industries today they are looking for employees

who have skills because employability skills has more capabilities or advantages in

industries today than someone who has a degree program.

According to Caballero (2015), “It is recommended that a thorough

assessment on the functionalities of facilities and equipment needed for each sub-
strand of the TVL Home Economics strand be provided by concerned stakeholders

prior to implementation to ensure readiness of the school to offer such strand by

academic year 2016. This is also to ensure that development of the required skills

among the SHS student will not be sacrificed.”

According to Washington State Law, “One of the advantages of TVL is that it

allows for a flexible learning environment. Students may work on their assignments

when and where they would like. At the same time. “

According to Gayatin (2018),” As the students finish a specific TVL strand,

they will be equipped with skills in order for them to be employed as soon as they

finish two years of Senior High School. Most of the skills offered are highly

marketable outside the country with very high salary. This is why people are more

into skills training now.” If the student is a TVL Strand graduate, they will be easy to

employed because of their skills that trained while they are in Senior High School

and also people that equipped with skills are ones who can able to work in the

other country with a big salary.

According to Nucum (2018), “The Technical Vocational Livelihood or TVL

Track is one of the tracks offered under Senior High School programs in the

Philippines. It is designed to provide students with job-ready skills that they will

need in the future.” If the students is already graduated in Senior High School they

can easily have a job even if they are just High School Graduated with the help of

TVL Track they are already ready find a job and use the skills that they learned in

TVL subject or track.
