Course Outcomes: Through this course students should be able to

• analyze basic mechanical engineering workshop like different manufacturing processes


and measuring instruments.

• define practical skills in various machining operations.


• analyze different manufacturing processes and measuring instruments.

• identify baisc tools used in different manufacturing processes and measuring instruments.

List of Practicals / Experiments:

Carpentry Shop
• Single Mitred bridle corner joint

Sheet Metal Shop


• Making of cone shaped funnel

Welding Shop
• Carrying out Lap and "T" joint by Arc welding

• Preparation of Triangular Burner stand using Arc welding

Fitting & plumbing


• Pipeline fitting and Connection w.r.t Fitting.

• Preparation of Vee joint and Dovetail Joints on Mild Steel sheet

Machine shop
• Preparation of multiple operation job employing Lathe machine

• Preparation of simple turning job
