2019 SCITECH COSPLAY CHARACTER SHOW

QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS

1. The SciTech Cosplay Character Show is open to all secondary schools under the
Department of Education – Division Offices in the Caraga Region.

2. Contestants shall be officially nominated by the school principal and endorsed by

the participating school division.

3. Every school division can send one (1) Junior High School or Senior High
School student only from its secondary schools.

4. All contestants must be a bonafide high school student officially enrolled for the
current school year 2019-2020.

Deadline for the submission/filing of entry form is on August 23, 2019 at DOST-Caraga, CSU
Campus, Ampayon, Butuan City or directly e-mail it to rstwcaraga2019@gmail.com.

MECHANICS

1. The contestants must portray a character relevant to this year’s theme for the National
Science and Technology Week: ‘Science for the People: Enabling Technologies
for Sustainable Development’.

2. Costumes/attire of the contestants should be made out of eco-friendly materials to

promote the sustainable use of natural resources.

3. Contestants are allowed a maximum of 2 minutes to perform their character’s skit on

stage. Exceeding the time limit will result in a score penalty.

4. Prior to the cosplay character show, contestants are required to submit the
design/photo of their official entry indicating the character’s name and brief description
not exceeding 200 words. Each contestant must submit one (1) entry only.

5. Along with the photo/design, contestants are also required to submit the music/sound
track (if necessary) for their skit during the show. The track should be in .mp3 format
and should not exceed the skit’s allowable duration.
 6. Entries must be submitted in digitized format (at least 300 dpi with a file extension of
.jpg). It can be designed in digital or traditional illustration/drawing.

7. If the submission is in digital artwork, file should be submitted in the following formats:
1) jpeg and tiff format; 2) Original raw file (minimum of 300 pixels). File name is the
contestant’s name.

8. If submission is a freehand or traditional artwork, it must be submitted in high

resolution digitized format (.jpeg and .tiff). File name is the contestant’s name.

9. The submission should be an original concept/design and does not infringe on any
third party’s existing copyrights. Any complaints that may arise due to similarities,
likeness or comparison of the design would be the accountability of the participant and
must prove its authenticity.

10. The official entries must be emailed to rstwcaraga2019@gmail.com with the

subject ‘Sci-Tech Cosplay – (name of participant)’ on or before August 23, 2019,
11:59 PM, together with the contestant’s basic information (name, address, contact
number).

11. Winners will be selected according to following criteria:

 Relevance to the Theme: 40%
 Resourcefulness: 20%
 Creativity and Originality: 20%
 Presentation: 20%

12. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

13. Winners will be informed via official communication on September 4, 2019. The
awarding ceremony will be on September 5, 2019, 1:00 PM, at Lope A. Asis Memorial
Gymnasium. The winners are enjoined to personally receive their prizes.

AWARDS

All contestants and coaches will receive Certificate of Participation and Certificate of
Appearance, while the winners will receive the following:

 First Prize - Medal + Certificate of Recognition + Cash Prize (P 5,000.00)

 Second Prize - Medal + Certificate of Recognition + Cash Prize (P 4,000.00)
 Third Prize - Medal + Certificate of Recognition + Cash Prize (P 3,000.00)
