Mazda’s rotary engine

 The rotary engine also known as Wankel engine was firstly used in
Mazda’s RX 7 and RX 7 FD
 It did not gain much popularity due to its block creating low pressure
for combustion unlike normal blocks.
 Mazda funded the project in 1987 and it wasn’t supposedly
successful as it is still not seen in any modern cars due to its low
efficiency.
 It did come in types mainly
o Single rotor
o dual rotors
o 4 rotors
 The 4 rotor was only installed in RX7 FD because of its high power.
 You could also get the 4 rotor with a single or twin turbo setup to
gain even more power for your RX7.
 The twin turbo produced 362hrsprs and 420trks.
 They did try their best to line their cars up against the aging beasts
like the Nissan GTR r33 skyline and the legendary Toyota supra
 The GTR was offered in skyline and NISMO models which were too
overpowered for their time.
 The supra was only offered in a TRD variant which gave it a body kit
and a turbo.
 The Japanese government was not happy with these cars having this
kind of power to them.
 So the government had a meeting with the people and they had a
gentlemen’s agreement not to produce any cars with more than
300hrsprs
