International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code was developed as an international code for the maritime
transport of dangerous goods in packaged form, in order to enhance and harmonize the safe carriage of
dangerous goods and to prevent pollution to the environment which recommended that Governments should
adopt uniform international code for the transport of dangerous goods and it is not intended for the use not
only by the mariner but also by all those involved in industries and services connected with shipping.
Conclusion
The reporters conclude that the Maritime Dangerous Goods Code is very essential because for we may
able to know on how we may transport dangerous goods safely particularly to the segregation of
incompatible substances between goods which are considered to be dangerous for transport and those
are not to prevent pollution to the marine environment.
