MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

BETWEEN
YOUTH FOR SEVA
AND
NSS UNIT OF CMRIT
This memorandum of understanding (MoU) is made by and between Youth For Seva
(hereinafter referred to as AIKYA) and NSS Unit of CMRIT (hereinafter referred to as
NSS).

1. Objective:

The general objective of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to describe and

formalize the collaborative relationship between both the organisations which have
mutual interests in the field of volunteering, social work and youth development.

2. Background:

2.1.The goal of YFS is to support schools ,destitute shelters, organization’s in the social
sector through volunteers who can help them mitigate some of the shortcomings and
challenges Volunteering is made easy and customized to the individual’s interests, time
availability and skill sets. YFS aims to create positive change agents in the society,
through the culture of volunteering
2.2.NSS Unit of CMRIT, Bangalore is a voluntary movement promoted by GOI which
provides various services and works for all round development of the nation. The Unit
also takes part in various community development and social development projects
with the help of its volunteers, NGO and social organizations.

3. General terms of the Mou

3.1 Duration of MOU: This MOU shall be operational upon signing and will have an
initial duration of two year. All activities conducted before this date within the purpose
of the joint collaboration will be deemed to fall under this MOU.

2. Coordination and communication: In order to carry out and fulfil the aims of this
agreement, each party will appoint an appropriate persons to represent its organization
and to coordinate and communicate the implementation of activities. These staff can
meet regularly (preferably with two days’ notice) to discuss the program and plan
activities.
 3. Financial implication: No financial commitment by both the parties is required in any
case of any financial requirement for special projects / events, the party undertaking
the project shall seek permission from the other party in prior.

4. Termination of MOU: The partnership covered by the MOU shall terminate upon
completion of the agreed upon period. The agreement may also be terminated with a
written one month notice from either side.

5. Addendum : Any Addendum to this MoU shall be in writing and signed by both
parties

4. Deliverable, Roles and Responsibilities of YFS:

1. Shall organize events involving NSS volunteers in the field of education, environment,
cleanliness and hygiene, community development and other social concern activities.
2. Shall organize different leadership / soft skill training programmers to create social leaders
among the NSS volunteers.
3. Shall provide internships to selected NSS volunteers (subject to availability of vacancies
and credentials of applying candidates).
4. Shall organize volunteer connects, conferences, conclaves and special events, which will
help NSS volunteers connect to a large number of youth and network.
5. Shall organize competitions and activities which will help the college students in honing
their capabilities.
6. Shall act as a facilitator to hone and create social leaders with high integrity and ethics.
7. Shall certify participation of the NSS unit of college and its volunteers during various
events.
8. Shall provide guidance for events hosted or organized by the NSS volunteers which shall
promote social work / social leadership.
9. Shall provide guidance to the NSS unit on social responsibility.

2. Deliverable, Roles and Responsibilities of college:

2.1.Shall collaborate with YFS in the field of education, environment, cleanliness and hygiene,
community development and other social concern activities and projects.
2.2.Shall encourage its volunteers to undergo different leadership / soft skill training program
organized by YFS.
2.3.Shall provide a platform for its volunteers to undergo internships and fellowships with / in
YFS.
2.4.Shall help implement YFS’s social and community development projects with the help of
volunteers.
2.5.Shall appoint a member of the teaching staff as the institutional coordinator who shall
coordinate all the activities and shall act as a single point of contact from the college.
The terms and provisions in this MOU also apply to any subsequent Addendum to his
Memorandum of Understanding on the at Bangalore
