Powerscreen International Ltd, a company that is located in Birmingham, UK. It is one of

the leading manufacturers of springs, including compression, tension, torsion, pressed
and wire shaped springs. The company has facing problems in their total quality
management since 2000s. These are the list of problems that they are facing in their
total quality management:

 Management infallibility – the company has poor management practice, and a

general lack of higher expectation have contributed to unproductive and
unhealthy attitudes. The company’s management failed to train their employees
on TQM fundamentals that build better attitudes by involving them in teams that
identify and solve problems.
 Inadequate resources for total quality management – The Company do not
involve quality in their strategic plan, little attention is paid to their TQM in terms
of human and financial resources. Much of their attention is drawn to increasing
profit margins of the organization with little regard as to whether their
offers/supply to customer is of expected quality.
 Lack of leadership for quality – as mentioned above, the management has poor
management practice. The employees who are directly involved in the production
of goods or delivery of services are not motivated enough to incorporate quality
issues that have been raised by the customers they serve since they do not feel
as part of the continuous process of quality improvement.

