Der Nutrition Care Process und eine

standardisierte Sprache in der Diätetik. Ernährungs Umschau. 2012;10:586-593.

ABSTRACT: ENGLISH

The Nutrition Care Process (NCP) is a systematic method dietitians utilize for decision making,
problem solving, and critical thinking. NCP enables professionals to make care-related decisions
consistently and to provide safe and effective quality nutrition care. The German Dietitian Association
(VDD) has decided to establish and implement the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’
Nutrition Care Process in Germany and later expand it to include a standardised language for
dietetics. This decision was made with the intention of improving standards and quality of
performance in the area of nutrition care in Germany. The following article relates the current status
of the implementation process and highlights the implications and perspectives of the use of NCP and
standardised language for dietetics in Germany.
