Classification of Hazardous Wastes Wastes are considered hazardous if they are listed under the Classification of Prescribed Hazardous Wastes (HW) under this Procedural Manual or they exhibit any of the four ‘characteristics, namely: igntable, corrosive, reactive or toxic based on TCLP. (1) The classification of wastes listed in Table 1-1 shall be as hazardous wastes, (2) The analysis of extracts shall follow the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP).
