Radiator Cap Test ., Radiator Test

Fan Motor Test Thermostat Test

1. Disconnect the 2P connectors from the radiator fan Replace the thermostat if it is open at room

Water Pump Inspection Water Pump Replacement

1. Remove the drive belt (se'e page 4-29). 1. Remove the drive belt (see page 4-29).

2. Turn the water pump pulley counterclockwise. 2. Drain the engine coolant (see page 10-6).
Check that it turns freely. If it doesn't, replace the

NOTE: When you check the water pump, you may


see a small amount of "weeping" from the bleed 4. Remove the six bolts securing the water pump,

Thermostat Replacement

1. Drain the engine coolant (see page 10-6).

2. Remove the splash shield (see step 21 on page 5-5).

3. Remove the lower hose, then remove the thermostat.

Water Passage Replacement

Radiator Fan High Speed Circuit Troubleshooting

1. Remove the fan control relay from the under-hood 3. Check for continuity between the fan control relay
fuse/relay box, and test it (see page 22-66). 5P socket terminal No.2 and body ground.
