PRO:
1. Acts of Universal Declaration of Human Rights article 25: “ Everyone
has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being
of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and
medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the
event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other
lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”
2. Payback for the lifetime work of raising, caring,Cultural mid and
funding the child. It would be fair if you can choose who you want to be
with for a lifetime. Every parents have responsibility about it. Written in
Declaration of the Rights of the Children in 1959 principle 7, “The
child is entitled to receive education, which shall be free and compulsory,
at least in the elementary stages. He shall be given an education which
will promote his general culture and enable him, on a basis of equal
opportunity, to develop his abilities, his individual judgement, and his
sense of moral and social responsibility, and to become a useful member
of society.’ And 10, “The child shall be protected from practices which
may foster racial, religious and any other form of discrimination. He shall
be brought up in a spirit of understanding, tolerance, friendship among
peoples, peace and universal brotherhood, and in full consciousness that
his energy and talents should be devoted to the service of his fellow
men.”
3. Cultural and national mindset about gender inequality
Gender Equality is in the fifth goal of UNDP Indonesia. Gender equality
have been improving nicely, but it’s not enough. By being able to choose
child sex, parents are involved in nation development.
4. Gender imbalance can be side effects of both sides, so why not?
Logicaly, it would be advantages for nation and it’s sex ratio if the parent
who is able to choose the child sex care about gender equality in that
nation. If not, the parents would only maket he sex ratio and gender
equality worst than ever.
5. Helping parents planning of bedroom decoration, clothes, etc.
6. Overcome past trauma (replacement of lost child)
Miscarriages rate by age:
 Under 35 years old: 15 percent chance of pregnancy loss
 Between 35–45 years old: Between 20 and 35 percent chance
of pregnancy loss
 Over 45 years old: About a 50 percent chance of pregnancy
loss

7. Excuse the sex-speficif heredity diseases such as bresat and ovarian

cancer for women and prostate cancer, etc.
8. Selective abortion/gender selection happens already. There is a site
named The Fertility Insitute that provide gender selection service with
100% accuracy claimed. It even works with 42 clinics all over the world
with this kind of programme. PGD (Preimplantation Genetics Diagnosis)
technique are used.
9. Family balancing
10.In some countries, such as India and China, it is commonly known that
the practice of sex-selective abortion has resulted in distortions of the
natural sex ratio, in favour of males. In addition, there is concern that
sex selection involves inappropriate control over nonessential
characteristics of children and may place a potential psychological burden
on, and hence cause harm to, sex-selected offspring.
11.
CONTRA:
1. Gender Imbalance/gender inequality
World sex ratio is 101.792. the parameter is man per 100 women. So it
means that tere are more man than woman on the earth.
2. Childrens are not barbies that can be customized as the parents like.
In the fertility intitues programme, there is even eye color selection
for the child.
3. Cultural mindset is unhealthy. Change it, not follow it.
4. Gender imbalance are socially harmful. In China men population is
bigger that women. As the result, many men can’t find partner. Criminal
rate increases, duet o sexual violence, kidnapping women, forced
marriage, child abused sexualy, and even prostitution.
The 2013 Multi-country Study on Men and Domestic Violence asked men
in China if they had ever coerced a female partner into having sex
(including alcohol facilitated rape). 22.2% said yes. 9.3% had done so in
the past year. 19.4% raped their partner. 55% of the men who had raped
had done so more than once and 9% had have so on four or more
partners. 86% cited sexual entitlement as their motive (the highest
percentage in the study) and 57% answered that they raped out of
boredom. 72.4% experienced no legal consequences. 1.7% had raped
another man. 25.1% who had raped reported first doing so as a teenager.
2.2% admitted to having committed gang rape.[5] A report conducted by
the All-China Women’s federation estimated that close to forty percent of
Chinese women who are involved in a relationship or are married
experience physical or sexual violence.

5. Let the child gender remain mystery. It’s a process of wonder and awe
for the parents.

6. Children are unique on their own, it can’t be replaced even with the
same gender.
7. The “failed” embryos are thrown away. I tis indirect abortion and
murder.
This is GDP process:
1. Several eggs are extracted from the mother by our doctors, sperm is supplied by
the father.
2. The father's sperm is used to fertilize the mother's eggs in our lab.
3. After 3 days, several 8-cell embryos will have developed (see figure).
4. Our doctor-scientist specialists examine the genetic makeup of the embryos,
screening for both genetic diseases and desired gender.
5. Healthy embryos of the gender you desire are implanted in the mother.
6. Any additional healthy embryos may be cryo-frozen for future use.
7. Gestation and birth take place as normal.

8. Moral Grounds
Children are living creatures that entrusted to parents. Whatever the
gender is, however it looks, whatever comes with it, its unique and
authentic. It is something that we cannot replace or customized.
9. Throwing away human life simply because parents will, thats inhuman.
10.Universal Declaration of Human Right article one: “All human beings
are born free rand equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with
reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of
brotherhood.”
11.Universal decalration of human rights article 3: “everyone has the
right to life...” embryos have right to life.
