A Corporate Communications Cell initiative

PGPIM - Course Structure: It is a dual-degree programme offering PGP-IM from MDI and MIM from ESCP
Europe. The first phase of the programme is delivered at the MDI campus in Gurgaon, while the second phase
to be delivered in ESCP Europe at the Paris, Berlin, Madrid, London* campuses. The uniqueness of the course is
derived not only from the multicultural academic experience (with classmates coming from all across the
world), but also from the direct access to the global market.

Eligibility Candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII along with Masters or
Bachelors (4 years minimum) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA and a minimum of 1 year (one-year)
of work experience post-qualification (4-year's Bachelor's degree) on the last date of application.

Being a general management course, it is well balanced wherein you get knowledge of Finance, Marketing, HR,
Ops and strategy. Most courses that we have are aligned to provide an all-round experience over all domains.

1) Placements - Students getting an internship at Europe may look for job opportunities there. However, if
one wants, he/she can come back to MDI for the final placements. The applications for PGPM and PGPIM are
made jointly, so no distinction among the courses. There's no differentiation between the profiles offered to
both the courses either. However, some companies might look for specific skills (relevant subjects), similarly
some might look for a mandatory international work exp.

2) ROI - It completely depends on you, your expectations from an MBA. (If at all, you compare it with a
conventional MBA, then it would be a case of sheer misjudgment, since the global experience is something that
stays with you all your life and not just in your profile, the learnings that you have, are worth a lot more than
might appear.)

3) Exposure - PGPIM gives the best of both worlds: a chance to study at MDI as well as get an international
exposure, while studying in Europe. Moreover, ESCP is considered as one of the best business schools in the
World and in Europe. So getting an MIM degree in ESCP Europe opens international career paths.

4) Pedagogy - Case-based learning (Using cases from Harvard Business School, Ivey Business School, etc.),
simulations, lectures and discussions are employed for the classroom teaching. Students also get live project
opportunities to learn while working on real business scenarios.

5) Faculty - It is the same for PGPM and PGPIM courses. For more details, please check our official website-
https://mdi.ac.in/faculty/show-faculty.html

6) Intake –It completely depends on the administration. The current batch of 2018-20 has 60 students while
the previous had 45.

7) Fees- The fees for the complete programme is Rs. 25,00,000. PGP-IM Students do not have to pay any
tuition fees at ESCP-Europe location. However, Students have to bear visa fees, visa assistance fees, social
security, travel cost, lodging & boarding at Europe. ESCP-Europe will assist students by providing information
about accommodation availability. However, students will have to make final arrangements on their own. At
present approximate cost of stay in Europe is 600-800 Euros per month. This amount is in addition to the fees
mentioned.

Q: How likely is it that I can get a paid internship at Europe in this economic climate? If yes, can you give example
companies where you/your batch mates interned?

A: How likely is a subjective thing. As for the senior guys, they cracked internships (outside India) from
Boeing, Phillips, Puma, UPS, Schneider Electric, Pernord Ricard, Standard Chartered, Allianz, Bayer, Nestle,
Danone, Sodexo to name a few. The economic climate is not what is projected in the populist domain. Europe
has (and is) actually witnessed (-ing) a boom of startups, so the economic climate is pretty good.
Q: Is it possible at all to get a full-time job offer in Europe with the MIM degree from ESCP?

A: Gauging from the previous batches' performance, yes, there is definitely a possibility to get a full time job
offer in Europe with ESCP Europe's MBA-IM/MIM degree. We have our alums who stayed back in Europe for
their job. Then there are some from the immediate senior batch, currently with full time associations with the
European companies. (This decision to stay back in Europe is completely yours. There's always a wide range
among the ones getting homesick right after a month to people willing to stay back)

Q: What about the company consultancy projects, internships, and importance of the alumni network?

A: The company projects are brought by the Career Services team, while the internships are searched by the
students themselves (career services team arranges for CV checks/ info sessions/ company tours etc.) The
classes last from mid-Feb to mid-July, last two semesters(till March) consist of the internship and dissertation.
The lecture delivery depends on the professors and the cases. We've had a share of both kinds of cases (though
mostly written cases have been used, from academic point of view). Live cases generally tend to be part of the
term projects (or even independent live projects). The role of alumni is critical to establish you own networks in
any B-School. It's the same for us as well, however in MDI, one cannot identify the students distinctly based on
the courses, hence apart from the complete MDI network, an additional network of ESCP is readily accessible to
assist (references) for the internships/ job offers.
Q: Expense in Europe?

A: The tuition fee for ESCP is already covered in the fees which you’ll be paying at MDI. The expense in
Europe would range from 3 - 5 lacs (highly subjective, based on your spending habits and on the ESCP Campus
location). The salary figures are already published in the placement report. If at all, you compare it with a
conventional MBA, then it would be a case of sheer misjudgment, since this course has lot more to return than
just a paycheck, the global experience is something that stays with you all your life and not just in your profile,
the learnings that you have, are worth a lot more than might appear at the time.
