B. Reason
(1) Problem: Cracks have been found in Fairing Core Mount Brackets, Part No.
3051079-1/-2/-3, during Minor Inspections (600 hours).
(2) Background: Cracking of the fairing core mount brackets has been found to be caused
by high assembly and operating strains.
(3) Action: Improved design core fairing bracket assemblies have been developed and
tested that handle larger circumferential, radial, and axial misalignments, with lowered
operational strains from pressure loading and thermal fight of the composite inner
bypass duct.
C. Description
This service bulletin provides instructions for replacement of the Fairing Core Mount
Brackets, Part No. 3051079-1/-2/-3, with improved design Core Fairing Bracket Assemblies,
Part No. 3051178-1, 3051179-1, and 3051180-1.
D. Compliance
Recommended. The CFE Company recommends that this service bulletin be accomplished
at the operator’s convenience but not later than the next access to affected parts.
