languages, there exist certain differences between the two languages. The current
article investigates the adding of action subjects to the action sentences through
the Vietnamese translation of the novel "Dream of the red chamber” by Vu Boi
Hoang. The results show that 19.41 % of the Chinese simple sentences translated
into Vietnamese are added action subjects to. Whereas the Chinese compound
sentences are put in by 80.59% action subjects to the Vietnamese translation. Out
of the Chinese compound sentences, 0.75% translated into Vietnamese are split
into two or three sentences and added action subjects to help link the sentences
more tightly, make the meaning clearer and make it easier to understand. The
article is to investigate the differences and the necessity of the action subjects
between Chinese and Vietnamese sentences to find out the differences in terms
