INTRODUCTION:

THE PROJECT:

Providing infrastructure facilities, particularly school buildings, has been

accorded the highest priority under school education. A massive
programme has been undertaken in Delhi to replace tented
accommodation with pucca school buildings. At present, only 22 Delhi
Government schools and 37 MCD schools function in tents mainly due to
land disputes.

The story goes back to May 2016 when we got the lead of the Delhi School
Furniture requirement and finally after 1.5 years of patience and hard
work the team managed to close it in the company’s favour.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ORDER:

• Complete Order of standard products which needs to be supplied in 48

Govt School in Delhi.
• Done customization of our standard Genii to suit the customer’s
requirement of sturdier & student friendly benches owing to which we
are supplying 32K benches in schools.
 In July 2016 demo of 2 fully functional classrooms of our Desk cum
Bench – GENII was put along with other competitors in front of Dy
CM Delhi - Mr Manish Sisodia, Min PWD - Mr Satyendra Jain and
complete PWD senior management at one of Delhi Govt School
where Sushil Sir guided us not only to put demo of product but try to
give the entire changeover of classrooms.

DESIGN SEEDS:

Since complete makeover of the classrooms were to be done, following

were the challenges which had to be dealt with:

•Classrooms were raw and poor in shape.

Visulaization of the concept •Budget constraint
•Minimal design
•Safe and strong implementation

• Zeroed in on playing with just colours. Since most of the classrooms

already gave us an element to play with i.e the ceiling.

RESULT:

During the actual demo day Hon'ble Manish Sisodia not only liked our
product but also liked the way we changed their classrooms and asked
PWD Team to implement Godrej Product and replicate the same design
in all schools.
