A very good evening ladies and gentlemen and members of the mass media. (PAUSE
MOMENTARILY) I am Bianca Gonzales and I will be your host for tonight.
First let me welcome and thank you for your presence at the 2019 Metrowear Filipiniana
Fashion Show. We are indeed proud to hold this event at the very beautiful Blue Leaf Events
Pavilion. (PAUSE) We also would like to thank our guest of honor Ms. Kelsey Merritt who
walked in the 2019 Victoria’s Secret fashion show it is an honor for us having a Supermodel
here tonight.
Tonight, we have several fashion shows lined up to entertain you. We have exciting
talented designers such as Caroline Mangosing, Chris Diaz, and of course Nuevo Ystilo in line
with tonight’s theme “A touch of tradition”, you will witness the many manifestation of the
traditional Filipiniana in inspiring designs.
We hope that this would be another milestone for our traditional “baro’t saya” not only in
the Philippine Fashion scene but also at the international level. We can see some of you
wearing Filipiniana tonight which is most welcomed by our organizers. May our traditional
Filipiniana and our designers get the notice that they deserve both home and abroad. I also
hope that when they get noticed, Philippine fashion industry could be a new growth driver for
Philippines under the New Economic Model.
Before we proceed further, I would like to request that all mobile phones are in the silent
mode so that we may all enjoy the evening uninterrupted.
I now would like to call the Bayanihan dance troupe runner’s up in the last competition
held in Malaysia

Ladies and gentlemen, dinner is now served. As dinner is being served, we will be
entertained by the handsome and talented Michael Pangilinan. Please welcome Michael
Pangilinan with his song entitled Pied Piper and Dope .
7:50 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, now for the highlight of tonight’s event! We would now like to
bring the beautiful models modelling for Caroline Mangosing creations. But before I bring in the
models, just a little note on the head designer of the Vinta Gallery. Mangosing graduated a
from ICE(Institute of Creative Entrepreneurship) in Fashion Design and Dressmaking. Her
creations have been worn by Miss Earth 2017 finalist in Malaysia and by talents in the fashion
industry.
(HOST PRESENTING WHAT THE MODELS WEARING)

1st Model. Majoy Baron is wearing an Ifungao inspired that is woven on a hand loom.
2nd Model. Kath Tolentino is wearing Barong Tagalog inspired crop top, where old-school
tradition meets a playful, contemporary touch.
3rd Model. Rachel Anne Daquis is wearing a hand-loomed dress designed by Looie Lobregat
which is the partner of Caroline. This little black dress is anything but ordinary---it features an
intricate Yakan weave.

I certainly hope that the dresses were a feast for your eyes. They were certainly for
mine. And while we’re waiting for our next designer and models to get ready, let’s all welcome
Jason Dy with his song I like it and Blood Sweat and Tears.

Thanks, Jason for your lovely performance. As highlighted earlier, we have another
designer and co-owner of the Modern Filipiniana collection is Chris Diaz. He is probably one of
the youngest fashion designers in Philippines. He is also a graduate of ICE in Fashion Design
and Dressmaking and has graced numerous college and wedding fashion shows.
(INTRODUCING THE MODELS AND WHAT THE MODELS ARE WEARING)
1st Model. Bea de Leon is wearing a pristine white, tea-length terno.

2nd Model. This chic Chris Diaz creation has a tiny dainty butterfly sleeves give it a traditional
Filipino touch and its perfect even for casual days wearing by Mika Reyes.
3rd Model. You know they say—you can never go wrong with the classics. Pauline Gaston
looks sophisticated in a black and white terno.
4th Model. Kim Kianna Dy sports a hand-embroidered vest. This stylish fashion piece features
patterns from South Cotabato’s T’boli tribe.

While you are all enjoying your dinner, here are the IV of Spades band who are going to
serenade us with their songs from the album Maps of the Persona, Boy with Luv and Lights.
Let’s give them all a round of applause. (APPLAUSE)

Thank you IV of Spades for serenading your beautiful song with us tonight, and we wish
for the success of your band.
And now for our Finale, here are the creation of The Nuevo Ystilo who worked with
different women weavers and communities to create collections made with organic and eco-

friendly fabrics. He makes sure the process used are not harmful and damaging to the
environment. And they use only natural dyes such as wood barks, achiote seeds, flowers and
leaves.
Nuevo Ystilo aims to dress up modern women with high quality Filipinianas and ready-
to-wear designs suitable for any occasions. (APPLAUSE)

1st Model. Therese Gaston wearing a cape barong in Silk Cocoon fabric.
2nd Model. Vanessa Gandler wearing a cool and comfy linen barong dress for everyday wear.
3rd Model. Charo Soriano wearing a Lucia Silk Cocoon off shoulder gown.
4th Model. Ann Basa is wearing a barong inspired cotton crop top.
5th Model. Alyssa Valdez wearing a meticulously hand embroidered gown in Silk Cocoon.
6th Model. Dennise Lazaro wearing a laid-back style in a Chambray shift dress.
7th Model. Bea Daez is wearing a Embroidered flounce pink dress in Silk Cocoon.
8th Model. Maddie Madayag wearing a line hand-embroidered barong and Inabel hand-woven
skirt.
9th Model. Celine Domingo is wearing a tea-length white terno in Silk Cocoon.
10th Model. Angel Dei wearing a Modern Terno in Pina fabric that paired with a blue jeans is
perfect for any occasion and perfect also for our model.

As the night draws to a close, we are pleased to present all models from all the
designers tonight. Here they are again! Take it again Caroline Mangosing, Chris Diaz and
Nuevo Ystilo! (CROWD CLAPPING)

your presence and support in making the event a success.
