VI. Rationale :

Quality teachers are single determinant of student’s achievement. The extent


and quality of teacher education really matters for teachers’ effectiveness. Teachers
with great knowledge of training and learning are highly rated and more effective
with the students.
Hence, In-service training is conducted to enhance their skills, knowledge, attitudes and
abilities for they are agents of mental and behavioral transformations of the students. With this training,
teachers will be able to strengthen their professionalism and get hold of new trends and methodologies
particularly in making action research
Action research is undertaken in a school setting. It is a collaborative activity
among colleagues searching for solutions to everyday, real problems experienced in schools,
or looking for ways to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
Moreover, this training could really be a great help among teachers to effectively
implement the K to 12 program to meet the demands of the 21st century : solving problem
flexibly, thinking critically and creatively, using knowledge and skills to a new situation,
collaboration and communication skills and technology literacy.
VII. Objectives :

This Training aims to:


1. Enhance teachers’ deeper understanding on the importance of Action Research
2. Equip participants with knowledge and skills in making action research.
3. Embolden every teacher to perfect his/her craft in teaching and be more concerned in
educating the 21st century learners
4. Make an Action Research
