The Warehouse Driver is one of five (5)
Warehouse Drivers in the General Services
Office (GSO) Property and Supply section at
the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan. Primary
responsibilities of the position include the safe
handling, moving, and storage of household
and non-expendable supplies to and from the
Major Duties: warehouses to different locations throughout
Amman through operation of large cargo
vehicles. The incumbent is responsible for
deliveries of residential furniture, appliances,
and office supplies, and is part of the team
furnishing 330 U.S. government-leased
residences in Amman. Assists in all duties
related to the warehousing and disposal of
U.S. government property. Authorized to
operate warehouse machinery and
equipment, vehicles, and commercial trucks,
as required. The Warehouse Driver serves as
Team Leader and is responsible for giving
instructions to the Warehouse Workers
ensuring the proper completion of myServices
work orders in the absence of the Warehouse
Supervisor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Secondary School or (tawjihi) is
required with two (2) years experience in
warehouse work is required, including work
involving the safe lifting, storing, and
movement of related goods. Safe driving
record is required, i.e. no accidents in prior
two (2) years, can be concurrent with two (2)
years warehouse work experience. OR
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Primary School is required with
four (4) years experience in warehouse work
is required, including work involving the safe
lifting, storing, and movement of related
goods. Safe driving record is required, i.e. no
accidents in prior two (2) years, can be
concurrent with warehouse work experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of safe lifting
procedures and how to move heavy objects
Requirements:

pallet jack, know how to load a truck or
warehouse space in a safe manner/position,
and how to pack objects on top of each other
using the most efficient and safe method for
lifting and fitting objects in the smallest area
possible. Basic knowledge of inventory and
data entry systems used for inventory. Must
be able to operate all types of vehicles
correctly and safely, to include pick-ups and
forklifts and all associated Class 5
Commercial driving license vehicles, to
include large trucks. Knowledge of principles
and processes for providing excellent
customer service is required. Within six
months of hire, must fully understand all have
U.S. Department of State regulations
governing the handling and accounting of
physical U.S. government property.
Completion of Secondary School or (tawjihi) is
required. OR Completion of Primary School is

Evaluations: LANGUAGE: Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) in
English (Speaking/Reading/Writing) is
required. Level 4 (Fluent) in Arabic

English Proficiency may be tested. SKILLS
AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work and
communicate in a group to ensure proper
handling of property, and that no furniture
surfaces, buildings, or houses are damaged
while objects are being moved or transported.
Must learn the location of items in the
warehouse and have the ability to count
stock, read property numbers, and record by
use of a scanner. Physical ability to lift 25
kilos, and to climb, lift, and balance moderate
to very heavy loads. Must hold a valid
Jordanian Class 5 Commercial driving
