1. Introduction
1.1 Use of this operation manual
This operation manual provides important information on how to use this product to ensure
safe operation. Besides observe all safety instructions and operating instructions given in this
manual, user should also comply with location accident prevention regulations and general safety
regulations in relevant to this product.
User should assure all the staffs who operate the pendant read and fully understand this
manual. The manual is an integral part of the product, it should be placed next to the pendant
during the work for operator review it any time. If this equipment is transferred to third parties, in
the time of transfer, be sure to keep this manual be transferred to a third party.
In order to facilitate your understanding of this equipment, this manual provides some
photos and diagrams, but they are not in very accurate proportions, these may cause slight
deviation from the actual product. This manual applies to YDT-IDT-2 products. There may be
differences in some images and functions, specific please in kind prevail.

2. Safety
In order to prove best protection for the operator and make sure this device can be used
safely and smoothly, this section gives safety instructions which should be specially paid attention
during operation. Failure to follow the safety measures and safety instructions which given in this
manual will result in serious harm.

2.1 Safety warnings and precautions

The following note regarding use, repair and maintenance of equipment, repair and
maintenance should be completely avoided to reduce risks of staff injuries and equipment
damages.

WARNING!

z Explosion hazard˖The equipment is not suitable for operation in areas with explosion hazard.
z Non-observance may cause personal injury or devices damage. The rack installation must be
carried out by persons with the appropriate qualifications, the expansion bolt must be
tightened and inspect its fixed.
z Electric shock ˖ Electric part repair or maintain must be carried out by skilled technicians.
Non-professional or before full understand the technical performance of this equipment, any
repair or maintenance is prohibited.
z Personal injury˖The installation, connection or adjustment of gas pipe and outlets must only
be operated by professional person. Any accident because by wrong connection of gas hoses
are forbidden.
z Personal injury˖Any cleaning for surface of power sockets are forbidden before power off.
z Personal injury ˖ The arm and service head adjustment must be carried out by skilled
technicians
z Personal injury˖The pendant remove work must be carried out by professional technicians or
persons with appropriate qualifications.

z Personal injury or devices damage˖The pendant is used for supporting or positioning various
devicesǃequipmentsǃIV poles etc, so the maximal load must not be exceeded. Otherwise it
may cause falling off of the pendant which cause personal injury or equipment damage
z The pendant is a heavy weight suspension device. Although it is easy to move, but the mobile
arm and the terminal box will produce a very strong potential energy, this may bring a
collision cause damage to the equipment or injury to personnel.
z Inadvertently larger force may make the terminal box, infusion pumps move, so need to make
sure provide long enough infusion tubes and power cables to fit for unintentional movement.
Otherwise it may cause patient injury or equipment damage.
z ATTENTIONS !

z This equipment is only applicable for single-phase AC voltage 220V+/-10% ǃ 50Hz. Any
replaces in input voltage of the device will cause serious damage. ˄ Except another design
which the user required˅
z Leak oxygen cause fire. When working with oxygen ,please do not use open flame. Do not
smoking! And operations with burning objects or open flame are not permitted.
z Do not pull and plug the pin from the power sockets directly. Please make sure you have held
on the pendant or press the power sockets, then pull and plug the pin.
z Be care for devices damage˖when the extension arm or service head rotating or move, please
be careful and don’t collide with the other equipment.
z When rotating the extension arm and service head, please keep it away from other staffs.
Please do not use too much force to avoid personnel injure, limit device damage or hitting to
the wall .
z To avoid damage of surface, do not use any scouring agents and strong alkaline, strong acidic
and alcoholic-containing to clean pendants. Please use neutral scouring agent and soft cloth.
And make sure there is no fluid drop into the pendant.
z No authorization from Hunan Taiyanglong Medical Technology Co., Ltd. Any modification
to the pendant is not permitted. Modifications without authorization will not be counted into
product warranty.

2.2 Significant Risk

Below are instructions for the other safety hazards discovered in the risk assessment process.
In order to reduce the health risks to your body and avoid dangerous situations, be sure to comply
with the safety instructions and warnings given here and in later chapters of this operational
manual.

again to ensure that they have no charge any
more.
̢ Before maintenance, cleaning or repair work,
cut off the power first, and ensure that the power
will not turn on again accidentally.
̢ Must avoid short-circuit,ineffective of fuse, of
ed, or render ineffective. Make sure use the correct
amperage fuse when replace.
̢ To prevent moisture Prevent conductive parts
from moisture as this may cause a short circuit.

2.3 Icons and marks

Hot surface(on the lighting system). Hot surface can’t see by eye. Please
wait it for cool down before touching these surfaces.

3 Product introduction
ICU motorized pendant is a modern and practical medical subsidiary equipment in modern
operation room. It provides loading platform for medical equipment and interface of medical gas,
vacuum suction and power supply for operation room of hospital.

3.1 Product features

ICU motorized pendant is made up of upper assembling, single arm beam, dropping tube,
cabinet for storage, platform, gas hoses and power sockets etc. The single arm beam, terminal box
and platform can rotate 340 degree without drifting. The pendant is permanently ceiling mounted
and isolated strong current from gas outlets and hoses. Reliable earth terminal is in accordance

with the electric safety requirement: GB9706.1-2007. The gas outletsǃnetwork interfaceǃ
information socketǃvideophoneǃbackground musicǃteleconsultation and other data port are
optional as customer’s request.

3.2 Application
ICU motorized pendant is used for hospital ICU. It provides interface for medical gas,
vacuum suction, anesthetic gas scavenging, electricity, network and platforms for medical
equipment like monitors and high frequency electrotomes.
The pendant can work continuously, but can not load over the maximum weight.

4 Installation instructions˄for skilled installation person only˅

4.1 Installation of the bracket

Ƹ Personal injury or devices damage: The rack installation must only be carried out by

persons with appropriate qualification, the expansion bolt must be tightened and inspect its
fixed.

4.1.1 The condition of installation of the bracket

The installation location of the pendant is confirmed. The layout design confirmed by signature.
On-site inspection result conforms to the drawing. Floor to false ceiling height is confirmed and
meet the requirement. Installation bracket and accessories are ready. Space between the concrete

floor slab and ceiling is qualified for installation and Concrete strength requirements C30.

4.1.2 installation
1˅According the layout design, find the center points for the pendant installation on the false
ceiling. Cut a round hole as 400mm around the center point.
2˅Fix the pre-built brackets center to the ceiling hole center. Use the expansion screw to fix the
installation rack on the concrete floor slab.
3˅Make sure the bracket bottom is parallel with the ceiling and with a distance of 200mm to the
ceiling. Then tighten the expansion screw, strengthen the bracket with steel wire rope. (refer to

4.2 The installation of the pendant

4.2.1 The condition of installation
1˅Medical pipes are ready for connecting the gas hoses from pendant, and please prepare the
repair valve and ž9mm adaptor for connected with pendants.
2˅Supply voltage: AC220V, single-phase three wire system˄3h4mm2˅or Supply voltage:
AC380V, three-phase four wire system˄4h4mm2˅
3˅The special protective grounding line(4~6 mm2 yellow-green line) which connected to earth bus
bar are already for use(adjust the line diameter according to power).
4˅Room interior decoration completed and reserved manhole on the ceiling.
5˅Open packing boxes to check and ensure no damage for all components and parts.
6˅Make sure all components and parts are not missing by checking packing list.
7) Check the space between the concrete floor slab and ceiling are qualified for installation.

4.2.3 operation of pendant installation
4.2.3.1 Installation of connection screw
6pcs M20*330 screw stem through in the connection board, both sides of connection board
need be tightened by screw nut, one side of screw stem is under the ceiling 60mm, each screw
stem fit a screw nut, the distance between screw nut to the end of screw stem is about 30mm. If the
distance of the the screw stem is shorter than specified size, it will be effect installation of ceiling
cover for the pendant. (refer to Figure 2)

4.2.3.2 Installation of upper assembling

Lift the upper joint by hoisting machine, install upper joint flange on the screw stem,then
check the direction of the stop pin of the pneumatic brake to the wall(The right direction will be
the backside of the operation position) , refer to Figure 3, put long side of upper joint tube point to
the operation position, check upper joint is in a horizontal position by horizontal rule, then fix the
screw nut on screw stem and tighten after confirmation.

4.2.3.3 Installation of single arm

Remove the up cover and 6pcs inner hexagon screws of single arm, lift the arm assembly by
hoisting machine, fix it on the upper joint tube by 6pcs inner hexagon screws, check the single arm
assembly is in a horizontal position by horizontal rule, then tighten the screws, please refer to
Figure 4.

4.2.3.4 Installation of single arm and terminal box
Put the electrical wires and gas pipes from terminal box through the single arm joint structure,
then tighten the connection screw between lower tube and single arm assembly, please refer to
Figure 5, then make the wires through the beam and up joint to the ceiling. (When through the
wires and pipes, every joint should have enough space to ensure the arms can be rotated flexibly
and no wires and pipes tied.)

4.2.3.5 Installation of platform

Fix the platform to the corresponding location of terminal box , then tighten by inner hexagon
screw and close with platform cover, please refer to Figure 6.

4.2.3.6 Installation of pendant ceiling cover

Ceiling cover wrap on the upper tube, and fixed the ceiling cover on the No.3 joint flange by
inner hexagon screw, then cover with hole plug, please refer to diagram 7.

4.2.3.7 Installation of beam cover

Install lower joint cover first, and fix front cover and back cover on the beam, tighten it by
inner hexagon screw, please refer to Figure 8.

4.2.3.8 Installation of accessories

Fix front cover and back cover on the beam by screw, and snap decoration strip into the rail,
please refer to Figure 9.

4.2.4 Install the gas and power

WARNING!

! Personal injury˖Please note that the installations, electrical connections or the gas outlets

adjustments must only be carried out by persons with skilled installation knowledge.

Caution ˖Medical gas hoses are differentiated by international standard color: Oxygen
by white, VAC by yellow, Air by black, Nitrous Oxide by green, Nitrogen by blue, Carbon
dioxide by grey, AGSS by red or with transparent grid tube.
1˅Before installation, check the marks on the gas hoses and gas pipelines and then match and
connect them together. Clamp them to prevent leakage.
2˅ Connect the electric lines to the line bank by fixing the terminals to the criterion
Caution: Disconnecting the electric mains before install the power system.

3˅Connect the grounding lines which connected to earth bus bar to the equipment and make sure
no looseness.
4˅Connect the interface which connect the power lines, control lines of the pendant to the terminal
rows and drives.

4.2.5 Inspect installation

z Make sure connection of medical gas, electric and the other connections are all correct
z Inspect the installation of the whole equipment to the criterion
z Try test operation, check if gas valve, gas hoses have leaking problem, if gas pressure of gas
terminal already meet standard values, each parameters of power meet the requirement, all
keys and buttons in proper status, no drifting when rotate the pendant.
z With accompany of skilled technician, end user or representatives of end-user carry out
acceptance and put into use if no exception.

5 Instructions of use and maintenance.

5.1 Use instructions

The pendant can be only used after acceptance inspection by user. Any accidents happened
because of misuse, Taiyanglong company will not take any responsibilities.
The pendant system must be operated by skilled and qualified medical person.

5.1.1 The use of medical gas

ATTENTIONS˖

! Leak oxygen cause fire. When working with oxygen, please avoid any flames. No

smoking! Touch to burning objects or fire are forbidden.

Taiyanglong pendant medical gas outlets use special design of push-pull type protection shield
cover.When use push the shield cover up, plug the fast connection or other matched adaptor(like
humidifier) into the gas outlets. Double check the tightness by pull and check if it is well fixed or
if any leakage. Then regulate the gas flow to requirement. When take off the connection, hold the
the connection by one hand first, and clip the retaining key by other hand before take it off, and
then pull down the shield cover to protect the outlets.(refer to Figure 20)

5.1.2 The use of electric sockets

ATTENTIONS˖

! Do not pull off the plug from the electric sockets directly, use one hand to hold the

electric sockets and disconnect the plug by the other hand.

All the power sockets are in build-in concealed design and with protective door. Please open
protective door when use and then plug the related instruments or devices in related power sockets.
Tidy up the cables by cable clips and close the protective door. Switch on the grid power switch, if
the instruction light is on, it means the power sockets are ready for work.

Caution: Input power of the instruments or devices must be consistent with input power of
this product. Current for every single outlet must not exceed 10A. Otherwise, the pendant
system will be damaged.

5.1.3 The use of earth terminal

This product already have grounding terminal. When use the device, please kindly connect the
grounding lines to related plugs, and then connect to the appropriate ground terminals.

5.1.4 The use of network interface

The network interface is installed on the product, plug in the relevant net connector when use and
make sure the connection is right.

5.1.5 Use and maintenance of other parts and accessories.

1) Use and maintenance of infusion pump and I.V. pole.
For use and maintenance of infusion pump and I.V. pole., please refer to manufacturer’s technical
data and instructions.
2) Use and maintenance of other adaptors
The installation and remove of adaptors like humidifier should be safety and reliability, and should
inspect the location spring in it regularly.
3) Use and maintenance of holder frame for ventilator catheter
Adjust the joint part of holder frame for ventilator catheter according to patient and bed to achieve
the best position status.
4) The use and maintenance of clock on lighting system please refer to clock operation instruction.
The clock and temperature display on the lighting system is for reference only.

5.1.6 The operation of moving, rotation and braking system

! Be ware of damage devices˖ The moving, rotating range is limited. To avoid

collisions with other components.

The clinical management Section, monitor and ventilator section and infusion pumps can be
levelly rotated in a limited range. The rotation and moving is operated by handle control.

5.2 Maintenance and other attentions

! Personal injury˖Cleaning pendant main socket are forbidding without power off.

! Personal injury or damage devices˖The pendant is used for loading various devicesǃ

equipmentsǃIV poles etc, so the maximal load must not be exceeded otherwise will cause fall down
problems.

CAUTION:

Ƹ
! Translation or rotation of terminal box of wet side and suspension equipment shelf of

dry side should avoid other staff. Do not push too hard to prevent injuries and limit device
rupture and cause equipment damage.

Ƹ
! To avoid damage to pendant painting surface, do not use alcohol cleaning agents,

solvents and do not use strong acid or alkali cleaners, apply a neutral soap or detergent solution
and a soft cloth to clean the drawbridge, and ensure there is no cleaning solution into the pendant.

1) Make sure the electric lines are powered off and gases are shut off after every day’s work.
Check the power indicator light is off and adaptors of gas outlet are pulled out.
2) The loading capacity of platform is limited, supporting various devices in accordance with their
specifications. Please refer to the equipment technical data. The maximal load must not be
exceeded !
3) When operate translation or rotation of terminal box of wet side and suspension equipment
shelf of dry side, do not push too hard to prevent the positioning pin broken cause limit device

rupture .
4) The electric sockets should always keep dry. When cleaning or disinfection are needed, please
use the soft dry cloth and make sure that no cleaning fluid enters the sockets.
 Please adjust the pressure according to requirement before use the medical gas˄pressure
regulating valve in the hospital supply system). Over pressure or leak gas adaptors are forbidden.
Check gas outlets from time to time to see retaining key is flexible and reliable. Please promptly
cleaned when it is not in use. When cleaning and disinfection, please avoid any water to avoid
impact airtight performance.

6. Maintenance and repair

6.1 Maintenance
The pendant designed service life is 10 years, and life for gas hoses is 5years. The normal
maintenance period of pendant system is twelve months. When time is due please ask professional
maintenance person open the ceiling cover, terminal box cover, joint parts blanking caps for
inspecting as below:
1) Inspect all gas outlets with gas hoses, whether any joint loose, leakage, the airtight performance
of gas outlet meet to the requirement. If any loose or leakage please use the locking clamp to repair
the leakage, or replace connector and gas outlets. Check if the gas hose are aging with cracks. If
any hose is aging with cracks, kindly replace with new hoses.
2) Inspect any loose for all power sockets or connection terminals and if the spring pieces loses its
elasticity or spark erosion caused by poor contact. If this is the case then tighten the screws or
replace the socket.
3) Inspect the grounding line is solid and reliable: If any loose, fasten it right away.
4) Inspect the medical gas pipe and power wire in rotating place, if there is any abrading, please
replace the gas pipe and power wire and take additional precautionary measures to deal with the
abrading, such as a case or sleeve.
5) Inspect the expansion bolts are tightly fixed into the concrete floor slab. If any loose, tighten it
right away to avoid falling down. And pay attention to check the tightness of the rope and seed if it
is appropriate to play a role of protection.
6) Inspect the positioning pin of each joints and positioning block of bridge pulley and see if any
abrading or loose. Please replace them if any limit function problem found.

Special Note: The bracket part inspection should be focused. If there is any rust, welding
collapse, faulty soldering and other hazards should be immediately removed to prevent
serious accidents and personal injury!

6.2 Maintenance and service

technicians or persons with appropriate qualifications.

Any problems cause during use the pendant. please contact your supplier or my company promptly.
Only skilled technician is permitted to repair the pendant system (except the replace of fuse)ˈ
otherwise, our company do not take any responsibility to the devices damage or personal injury
caused by non-professional persons.

We offer one year of free maintenance for the pendant from date of shipment and provide lifelong
paid maintenance and accessories.
