What We’re Learning
Sight Word of the Week: my
Phonics: We are continuing Alphabet Boot Camp this
week. We will be learning the name, sound, and how to
write a letter each day. Please refer to the purple letter
that came home to see when your child needs to bring
in an item from home and what letter they are assigned.
Reading: We are reading the book Mean Jean the
Recess Queen this week. We are working on identifying
story elements, retelling key events, and
asking/answering questions about the text.

This week we will be having Field Day on
Friday! This is a fun school community
building activity. We play outside relay type
games from 8:15-10:30am. Kindergarten
students will wear a YELLOW shirt and
tennis shoes. There are games that involve
water and the kids WILL get wet.

sight words we know in our writing.
Math: We will be continuing with Number Boot Camp.
We will focus on learning the name, how to write, and
how to count that amount of objects. We will do one
number a day and will learn 0-20.

Please send in a full set of dry clothes Social Studies/Science/Health: In Health, we are
(including undergarments and shoes) to learning about household items that are safe/unsafe to
change into if needed. touch/eat, the people who can give us medicine, and
how to say no if presented with an unknown substance.
Apply sunscreen before coming to school.
Kids can wear a hat if needed. I will bring a
cart to carry their water bottles around with
us.

There will be snow cones for sale for $2 but
