MANAGEMENT KNOWLEDGE MOTHER’S RELATIONSHIP WITH TECTS OF DPT-HB IMMUNIZATION IN

INFANTS IN THE NUSA INDAH CLINIC BENGKULU IN 2013

In Indonesia, most cases of diphtheria age group 15-44 years (37.4%), pertussis patients
hospitalized most of the infants and children (60.28%), whereas the tetanus patients
hospitalized most of the class worth over 45 years (44.16%). DPT-HB immunization is
important for babies because it can provide active immunity against diphtheria, tetanus,
pertussis and hepatitis B. The number of complaints of women after child immunized DPT-
HB in Nusa Indah Clinic Bengkulu city is a cause mom did not re-visit DPT-HB
immunization schedule so menyebaban immunization coverage at the health center is still
low. The purpose of this study to determine the frequency distribution and the relationship
between mothers with knowledge management of side effects DPT-HB at the baby clinic
homeland in the beautiful city of Bengkulu. This research uses descriptive analytic method
with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all mothers who have
babies in the region of Nusa Indah clinic Bengkulu city, amounting to 461 people with a
sample of 214 respondents was determined by random cluster sampling technique. Analyses
were performed using the chi square test. The result is known (p = 0.000) for the mother's
knowledge. Concluded that there is a relationship between the management of knowledge
mother's side effects DPT-HB in infants. Expected more intensive clinic staff in improving
maternal knowledge, providing information on growth monitoring sessions and entered into
a collaboration with the city health department to conduct health promotion efforts to the
mother of the baby, especially in the management of side effects DPT-HB in the appropriate
infant.
