RELATED MOTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE WITH MANAGEMENT OF
DIARRHEA IN CHILDREN AFTER HOSPITALIZED IN ISLAMIC HOSPITAL
ASSYIFA SUKABUMI IN 2013

Diarrhea is a one of disease most attack children under five years. An estimated
two untill three infants had episodes of diarrhea per year. Sukabumi Health
department report in the year 2012 the number of children under five years with
diarrhea is the second highest in Islamic Hospital Assyifa Sukabumi with the
number of children who were treated for diarrhea are 405 people. This study
aimed to determine correlation between knowledge and attitudes of mother with
diarrhea treatment by mothers after hospitalized in the Islamic hospital assyifa
Sukabumi. This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional corelatif.
Subjects consisted of 31 mothers, sampling techniques purrposive sampling
technique. The research instrument used questionnaires covered for knowledge
and attitude variables while treating diarrhea action variables using an interview
guide. Analysis of data using univariate and bivariate analysis. Statistical test
performed by Chi Square. Univariate analysis resulted showed the percentage of
mothers who have less knowledge there is 38.7%, unsupport attitude was 54.8%
and response unfavorable actions diarrhea was 64.5%. The results of the bivariate
analysis showed correlation between the knowledge of mothers (p = 0.001) and
mother attitude (p = 0.007) with the action treatment of diarrhea. Based on these
results the researchers suggest the Islamic Hospital Assyifa sukabumi, to improve
the knowledge and attitudes of mothers through health education with a more
effective method to use multimedia and implement discharge planning.
