Representation of Self Concept of Bidikmisi Undergraduate Students

Bidikmisi are undergraduate students who are consider has low economy condition
but have good potential in academic. Bidikmisi undergraduate students have a
number of rules that must be required to fulfill the agreemen, there are Grade Point
Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and graduate on time. However, there are still some
Bidikmisi undergraduate students who have negative self-concept. The purpose of
this study is to describe the self-concept of Bidikmisi undergraduate students in the
Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. The type of
research used is descriptive quantitative. Sampling use total sampling with sample of
145 Bidikmisi Nursing undergraduate students from Universitas Diponegoro. Data
was taken using the Positive Self Concept questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive
statistics. The results showed that undergraduate students who had positive self-
concept were 65.5% and negative self-concept was 34.5%. Based on the results of the
study, it is recommended for undergraduate students who have a negative self-
concept to improve their own concepts, one of them is by taking a positive thinking
training.
