Ramesh and Gargi

Problem Statement:
Ramesh is emotionally unstable and this is affecting his decision-making ability.
Alternatives generated:

1. Ramesh should continue to feel that his importance has got depreciated in the company and
should try to find a new job.
2. Ramesh should reconsider his resignation and continue working in the Chrysalis
Pharmaceuticals.
3. Ramesh should take a few days off from the office and try to overcome emotional crises
he is facing.
Alternative chosen:
Ramesh is the head of learning and Development (L & D) at Chrysalis Pharmaceuticals and is
facing emotional imbalance since. Gargi Sinha has joined the firm. Gargi is recruited by Kamla
to work in the HR department and handle the corporate social responsibility (CSR). Ramesh
didn’t like the fact that Kamla recruited Gargi without consulting with him as she going to be the
part of his team due to which Ramesh developed a perception that she is not needed in the
company. Over a period of time Ramesh found her to be unprofessional, not punctual, not
willing to fit in the culture of the company and a bad influence for his other team members.
Despite all this Ramesh didn’t say a word about it to Gargi or Kamla and kept on imbibing all
this and had an emotional outburst at the end. Ramesh felt that he is no more important to the
firm. He is emotionally unstable or lack emotional intelligent which made him less diligent for
his work and led him to mail resignation letter to Kamla. Ramesh should have talked with his
wife or Kamla before taking a decision. Ramesh should reconsider his plan of resignation
because he is a trusted and credible employee of the company and should try to come out of the
emotional turmoil, he is facing by discussing what he thinks about Gargi with someone he trusts
and should allow his emotions to control his decisions.
