Reflection:

Christian Emphasis Week

REV. ROSAN TABAODAJA

On the text Galatians: 2-20 it says that one has been crucified with
Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in
the body I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me. As far I understand this context of Galatians 2:20 it
shows how the believer is made right with God. In order to be save, the
believers must also be circumcised and become "Jewish". Justification
by faith actually makes it possible to live for God. Because crucified
with Christ means that we are new creations. Being crucified with Christ
means that we have a new love, being crucified with Christ means that
we have a new commitment, being crucified with Christ means that we
have a new days of life. In short Galatians 2:20 tell us how we escaped
the penalty sin to live a life that pleases God. Knowing that we are
“Crucified with Christ" should give us great encouragement in our
Christian walk. We have the power to say "no" and "yes" to God.

What is CEW? It is an annual set event that challenges students to make

God their most vital source of life. It's Christ Emphasis Week (CEW)

REFLECTION:

PASTOR ADJEC CASPE

Pastor Adjec Caspe discussed how millennial sees today in their daily
lives. On our daily routines social media are always in our mind,
building connection virtually, browsing random stuff on internet and
posting and even watching news. We cannot live without our phones in
our hands that’s why millennial are known for the motto of
“CELLPHONE IS LIFE/ GADGET IS LIFER”. We are always in for the new
stuff or trends, always updated on the happenings internet. But we
almost forgot building this kind of connection with our God. We forgot
this kind of crucial thing in our lives. It was like missing a piece of the
puzzle. But through building relationship with our God we will realize
that it gives us courage to fulfill our goals in life and find our purpose in
life. So we should always praise and thank God for everything by simply
remembering him sacrificing his life for our sins. And we should let him
live within us, repent and follow him/his words in order to have a sense
of directions in our lives. As a student and part of a millennial this
message leaves me staring in to nothingness. I’ve fell into deep
realizations because it had a great impact to me because i had this
habit that I easily got distracted by social media, and eventually I have
realized I’ve been neglecting and forgetting to have a connection with
him in order to strengthen my faith and to have this sense of light or
direction.

Pastor Russel Ban

According to the speaker, Pastor Russel Ban, showed his impressions

about people living in todays generation, he questioned us "with are
you in this generation". He also showed us some stuff recating to all
the modern trends that is brought to us by other foreign countries.
Especially the western countries, and also the country korea that
brought hallyu or korean wave in the phillippines and also around the
world he showed the proof of the influence of korea throug giving
some posters of some korean boyband. He also discussed about video
games and online games, where most of the millennials where addicted
to. We are distracted with everything due to trends, so even we are in
occassions, we still carry our cellphones everywhere. It shows that most
of us is physically present, but our mind is somewhere getting
diatracted by the trends. It was like a cycle, a new cycle of routine,
which is common today. We had a lack of perseverance, when we are
facing different challenges in life, that's why it leads us to failure. And
one the most common traits that we all have is that we complain even
in the simpliest things. We keep entertaining ourselves with useless
things, but we are neglecting our God in our lives. But we no longer fear
because he'll lead us for the better way or path by just committing
ourselves with Jesus. As student and a part of the millennials, i realized
that i was such a burden because i always forgot to worship him. But
still he, our God always welcome us with an open arms, even we got
distracted by everything, we still meant everything for him.
