► Petrochemicals are downstream


hydrocarbons derived from crude oil and
natural gas.
► The basic raw material for petrochemical
industry are called feedstock.
► Main feedstock's are:
► Petroleum gases
► Naphtha
► Kerosene
► Gas oil
► Ethane, propane and natural gas liquids
► Shale gas, CBM, Pet Coke, Coal

► Petrochemicals can be classified into:


► Basic petrochemicals

► End product petrochemicals

► Basic petrochemicals are basically olefins


(ethylene, propylene and butadiene) and
aromatics (benzene, toluene and xylene).
