Dear Professor Ramkumar N.

Parthasarathy ,

I, Rishabh More, am a second-year undergraduate student pursuing Mechanical Engineering

and a minor degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology,
Bombay (http://www.iitb.ac.in) which is one of the most prestigious engineering institutions in
India. My current CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) is 9.22 on a scale of ten after
completion of three semesters and I have Department Rank 6 in a batch of 147 students,
including both B-Tech and Dual Degree students.

I am quite interested in Fluid mechanics and have read some of your research work related to
this topic with much interest recently.
I am writing to you to seek an opportunity to work under your guidance in May-July 2015 so
as to enhance my practical knowledge and technical skills. A research opportunity at this stage
shall be very helpful for me in building a greater insight to the subjects of my study and further
career in research.

To sum my experience till date:

1. I was ranked among the top 0.04% engineering students in India (All India Rank 180 out of
about 0.5 million students) in IIT-JEE advanced 2013 and secured an All India Rank
17 (among about 1 million students) in JEE MAINS 2013.

2. I have undertaken courses like Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics Lab,
Engineering Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Solid Mechanics Lab,
Mechanical Measurements, Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing Practice Lab, Analytical
methods in engineering applications, Engineering Metallurgy, Data Analysis and
Interpretation.

3. I am well-versed with programming and handling some standard software like MATLAB
and SOLIDWORKS and have done a project in programming Under Prof. Supratim
Biswas, Department of Computer Science and Engineering IIT Bombay. It involved developing
a C++ code for analyzing and doing various operations on polynomials. I also have done
various technical projects in my first year.

4. Currently I am working on Monopropellant Droplet Evaporation and Burning under Prof.

Arindrajit Chowdhury, Department of Mechanical Engineering IIT Bombay. It involves analysis
of monopropellant droplet flame to find numerical equation for radius, temperature and
burning rate for the same.
Also, I can apply for Charpak Scholarship
Program (http://www.inde.campusfrance.org/en/page/charpak-research-internship-program)
which would help me funding wise for the internship period. I'm glad that Charpak Program give
preference to IITians with strong applications as you may see from previous year's results.

I assure you of utmost dedication from my side if accepted. I promise you that I won’t let
you down and will put my best efforts in the work assigned.
I have given the link to my resume with this mail. If you require any further information, I
will be glad to furnish the same.
