The CFE Exam online application consists of four qualifying sections: Qualifications, Experience and Character, Signature
Statement and Payment.
The cost to take the CFE Exam is $400. If you have purchased the CFE Exam Prep Course, the fee is $300.
The Certification Portal allows you to manage your application by submitting documentation directly to the ACFE.
Proof of Experience: Details on your work experience, including your responsibilities and percentage of time spent in
each area.
Proof of Education: Documentation of the education claimed on your exam application. Accepted documentation
includes official transcripts, photocopies of degree certificates or diplomas (must be provided in English or translated to
English). Advisory transcripts are not accepted.
Photo: A recent photograph. Low file quality or blurry images are not accepted.
Professional Recommendations: Three professional recommendations completed by individuals who have worked
with you professionally and can comment on your character, integrity, and professional skills.

Once your application is completed and submitted, please allow 3 to 5 business days for the reviewing of your documentation.
You will be notified by email upon completion of this review.
Certification Portal
If you are unable to apply online, you may download the CFE Exam application and submit it by mail or email. If you are
a CFE Exam Review Course participant and are unable to apply online, download the CFE Exam Review
Courseapplication and submit it to the Review Course Department two weeks prior to the start of your class. For applications
sent via fax, mail or email, allow an additional 7-10 business days for processing. This time frame is in addition to mail
delivery times.
