Shadows of Past
 The one's beautiful mansion turned into a place that looks like been through a hurricane.
Everything is messed up even the furniture has been broken, ripped and searched in. Bodies lie strewn all
over the place. You can't even recognize that this is one’s called home.

The place has been ransacked and thief killed everyone in that house except for this one little girl
hiding in her room.

"Find the girl and kill her she saw everything " said by one of them. The girl's loud sobs made them
find her in her room hiding inside her cabinet.

" Come here little girl I won’t hurt you"

The man drags her outside her room. She tried to get out of his grasp hysterically.

" NO! NO! MOMMA HELP ME! " She said while crying.

"This won't hurt close your eyes little one" The man get his gun pointing directly at the girl’s head
and pulled the trigger.

BANG!

Amethyst woke up in the middle of the night from her dream screaming, panting and sweating
like there's no tomorrow. She sighed and remind herself it's just a dream.

" That fucking dream again " she mumbled remembering her past and that little girl is her.

She stands from her bed lifting her head to the wall clock to see it’s still 1 am in the morning.

She walks to the bathroom to wash her face. She looks up in the mirror and saw her reflection.
Her emerald eyes, long wavy brown hair, pale skin, 5'6 height and fit body that looks more mature for a
17 years old. It shows her beauty everyone dreamt and envy. Her face shows innocence in it contrary to
what she really is that most people always get deceive.

She goes to her cabinet deciding to go somewhere to get rid of that dream in her mind and grab
her outfit. She wore a red crop top tank and leather jeans paired with her killer black boots. She goes out
not missing to grab her black leather jacket.

The City of Newcamburg, in the hidden underground where illegal things are made, the arena is
filled with people screaming and shouting for their bets in the game. Two people are in the center stage
with their fighting stance. What makes it special is that tonight’s fight is their one and only undefeated
Amethyst.

"Ladies and gentlemen ready your bets! Tonight’s fight is somewhat special! On the left corner is
our Amethyst and the one on the other side is Lexis Dixon the one who have the guts to fight our
undefeated! You know the rules right? when bell rings the fight will start immediately! when any of you
raises your hand means you forfeit " the announcer shouts in his mic.

RING! RING! RING!

 "AMETHYST!"

"LEXIS SO HOT"

The crowd cheers and shouts for their fighters!

Amethyst look to her opponent and first thing she saw is his black eyes looking intently at her. His
hair as black as raven, pale skin, and height higher than her leaning in the ring. His black jean and leather
jacket that looks perfect in him. Looking at his body he must be strong. His piercing makes him looks hotter
than any man she had meet before. He looks familiar but she can't point out where she meets him before.

"Shit! Where this man came from? He looks familiar " she said in her mind.

"Have you not told staring is rude? Already fell for me princess?" said the man.

"How dare you! who are you anyway? " she replied.

" Lexis Dixon " He said while having the first attack towards Amethyst. She dodges his attack and
give a punch and a side kick in return which he didn't expect. The guy didn’t know she has such fast
reflexes. Lexis, recovering what the girl did to him a punch in the jaw which the girl again dodge. She again
gives him a hard kick in the abdomen which made him stumbled back. She goes at top of the man and pin
her down.

"Who the fuck is you? " she yelled angrily while chocking him.

“Relax babe I just want to know how good are you" he replied and smirked. He raises his hand to
forfeit in the game. He just wanted to know how skilled the girl is and how beautiful she really is.

RING! RING! RING!

"Looks like we got our winner! Another fight has end! Amethyst has won again!" The announcer
said.

People who won the bet cheered and goes to amethyst to congratulate her while the others who
lost their money murmured cursed words they cannot accept their lost.

Amethyst, wanting to talk to that man, once look again in the ring but being distracted by the
crowd he cannot find her opponent. He disappeared quickly just like a ghost.

She didn’t know that Lexis is just watching her in the dark. Lexis always want to show his
admiration towards the girl. Her bravery, strong personality and beauty what makes him fall in love with
her. He had known the girl long ago before that incident but she didn't remember her due to her mild
amnesia.

Amethyst not being able to find the man decided to go back home. Fighting in the arena makes
her forget that dream but easily replaced by the presence of that man that looks really familiar to her.
Walking in the alley in the cold night she didn't care because she always walks there going home but
tonight she felt that someone is watching her. She grabs her dagger in case
 "Whoever the fuck are you come out " she calmly said.

" It's me Lexis. I just want to know where you're heading" Lexis comes out from the dark and goes
in front of the girl. She relaxes knowing it's just her opponent in the arena. The guy she's finding a while
ago is now in front of her.

"Who really are you seriously? I just want to know your kind of look familiar to me like we have
known each other before." she said not being able to stop saying what's in her mind.

"Once again my names Lexis Dixon ,18, sorry if I did not properly introduce myself a while ago and
just appear from the dark. You know me princess try to remember me " he said.

"I can't " she said having headache remembering. She knows in herself she had known Lexis before
but really can't remember.

"Stop it your hurting yourself, it's okay for now you will remember me if the time comes. I just
wanted to be friends with you" he said worrying what might happen to Amethyst if she pushes herself
remembering.

Amethyst wanted to start open up and accept people in her life again. She's tired of being afraid
and rejecting people in her life.

She extends her hand and show her angelic smile.

"Okay! I'll try to remember you promise! Hope you’re not some bad guys who want to kidnap me
or something" she laugh and said.

" This face? Want to kidnap you?

Your just tired princess let’s get you home" She agreed and said her address. They walk back to
her house and talk things what they like. With Lexis beside her she felt at ease and safe.

"Where here, Good night princess. I hope you'll able to remember me " He said with a smile in his
face.

" Nice to see you Lexis, I hope too. I feel were close before and at ease when I'm with you " She
don’t know what she feels however she trusts Lexis. She walks inside of their house thinking what could
Lexis be in her life.

Morning came, Amethyst woke up feeling happy something new happened last night even though
it happened so fast. She knew that after the incident she keeps what she feels on her own but now finally
she starts accepting people in her life.

She walks out her room and goes downstairs to find her foster mom making breakfast.

After the incident being left alone. Cops are able to save her from being killed by the thief. Her
parents best friend picks her who happened to be her foster parents now.

" Good morning amethyst breakfast will be ready in a minute" she said.
 "Good morning too " she replied with a smile and sit in the chair. Her foster mother, Lily, is
shocked to find her daughter smiles first time in 7 years.

Honk! Honk!

"Amethyst! open the door I think someone’s out there" Lily said while cooking.

Amethyst goes to open their door and shock to find out that Lexis is outside leaning in his Red
BMW looking fresh in his White shirt and faded jeans.

" Hi princess want to go somewhere?" he said and smirked.

"Yes I'd love to! Just wait in a minute! " she then run to her room to change in a mini black skirt
and white fitted tank paired with her snickers. She goes to the kitchen to grab some bacon and an apple.

"Lily I'm going out I'll be back later " she said while quickly kissing Lily in the cheeks which surprises
her. Never in her life did amethyst show affection to her and even others.

"Whoever she's going with must be good to change her being cold towards people " she said to
herself.

Lexis and Amethyst have been going out in a while and within that days she felt that she is willing
to be more open to him to share her past. Reasons why she became that cold and introvert person. She's
slowly falling for him! His gentleness and careless towards her makes her like him but up until now she
really can't still remember why he look familiar.

One night they decided to go to the top hill where city light and stars are shining and brightly
seen. They started talking about things and came to the point amethyst sharing her past to him.

"Lexis I know it may seem fast but I really do like you and falling for you. When I'm with you I feel
at ease and protected. You know I fight people but within that strong personality is a little scared girl that
holds her past. I want to share with you and open up what I'm fearful with " She confessed. She tells
everything what happened in that night where thieves killed her parents and brothers. Finally, after 7
years she tells what she really feels and there is someone she can rely to. She cried all night in Lexis arms.

"Princess I have known you long ago but I guess you don't remember me due to your traumatic
experience. Before that incident we always play in the park and I always protect you from the one who
bullies you. Do you still not remember me? " he said while hugging her.

She closed her eyes and a scene pop up in her head.

"Lili let's play in the park" she grabs the boys hand and run to the park.

"Ami don't call me that it sucks and it sound like a girl " he pouts.

" but it’s cute and I think it'll suits you" she said and shows her precious smile.

"whatever you like Ami " He just pat Ami's head and they happily play in the park.
 "huhuhu she pushed me" Ami cried falling off the ground. Some meanie pushes her while playing
in the slides.

Lexis instantly goes to amethyst hearing her cry. He then scolds the girls for their vile behavior.

"Hush now princess there gone now I’m here I'll always protect you no matter what" he said
pulling Ami's into a hug.

She opens her eyes. Now she does remember him!

"You are Lili? " she asked still cannot believe.

"Yes princess you do remember me now? " he asked. She nods her head and embrace him tightly.

"Like I said princess I'll protect you no matter what happened" he whisper to her ears.

At midnight, they went back to amethyst house. The silence is deafening to her ears and she sense
that something's not quite right. She ready her gun that tuck inside her pants.

"Lily? Where are you? I'm home! " she whispers that only that she can hears but nobody replied
to her. She got nervous when she hears some soft noise and murmurs upstairs. Someone's in their house.
She hopes that History's event will not repeat

"Lexis help me find Lily " They started finding lily everywhere.

"Ami I found Lily" He said.

"Li-li? NOOO! " She stops on her track upon seeing everything. What she'd hope for easily
vanished. Lying on the kitchen floor with blood covered all over her is her foster's mother cold body.

" Who the fuck did this to you will pay! " she hissed and cried. Pulling her gun on her side she
marches upstairs ready to shot the bastard ego killed her mother. She knew that the intruders are thieves
by the looks on their kitchen.

"Princess wait! " he tried to stop her before anything happens that she'll regret.

Amethyst find one of them in her fucking room. She looks around her one’s beautiful room now's
a mess. She pulled her gun and shoot him directly without blinking. She searches and find one of them in
her mom's room in front of the vault.

" Who are you? What do you want? " she said while pointing her gun at his head. The man looks
like in his late 30's with his mischievous smile and taunting words.

"Oh how lovely if it isn't little girl" She smirked and replied.

"H-ow? How do you know - " she asked pointing her gun.

"Easy their little fella. You've been careless for how many years now. I'm the one who killed your
parents and ransacked your house. You believed cops caught us? Fortunately for me I Escaped. " he laughs
evilly like a mad man.
 Upon hearing that, he gives her more reasons for wanting to kill him. He killed her family and now
Lily's dead. She tells now that she can protect and fight for herself. she's not that little scared anymore.

Amethyst being distracted, didn't realize that the man pulled out his gun. He now points it at her
head.

"Drop. Your. Fucking. Gun. " she said. Surprisingly the man slides the gun through his fingers and
onto the floor making him weaponless.

She then walks toward the man and slashes her dagger towards his stomach which the he didn’t
expect. He stumbles back into the wall with blood dripping from his side. She pinned him and shot before
the man could did first.

Lexis, being too late, appears in front hugging her.

" I'm sorry princess, the cops are coming hush now I'll always by your side I'll protect you " he then
kissed the girl in the forehead.

"I killed them, I finally killed them " she cried in Lexis's shoulder. Having their moment, they didn't
know the man's not yet dead. Amethyst didn’t hit him accurately what makes him still breathing. Crawling
he pulled the gun lying on his side and points it to the girl. Lexis being able to see it switched their position.

BANG!

"wh-at Lex-" she realized what's happening.

"Princess I love you with all my heart you know that right? and like I always told you princess I'll
find ways to protect you " he weakly smiled and cups her cheeks as he falls to the ground.

"LEXIS! NO! NO! You can't do this to me! You told me you'll never leave me! " She cried to his
lifeless body. She glances to the man who's still crawling for his life She goes right to him stab his heart so
the man can feel her pain. She then drops her dagger and run to Lexis body hugging him and crying. She
didn't care that the sirens of the car cops are visible to her hearing and almost near to their house.

Once again in her life she's left all by herself. The one who changes her and makes her forget her
past left her. The one whom she believes she'll end up with saves and protects her until his last breath.
The one she loved left her.

In our life there are people who comes and go. They teach us lessons, memories and experiences
we will remember and treasure for the rest of our life. Not every story has its happy ending. The same
goes for Amethyst and Lexis.
