CHAPTER 1

1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Introduction

Shopify online shop is a home-based company that offers different products such as bag,
watch, shoes etc. The current operation of Shopify is in social media networking such as face book,
Instagram, where they transact orders and receives payment through meet-ups. Now they started
receiving orders, not just from metro manila, but also other parts of the country as well. Meet-ups
for this kind of transaction is not advisable for clients from provinces. We are proposing a website
with an Online ordering system to help Shopify transact orders and receive payment from their
customer.
Online ordering system is a market that the buyer and the seller meet. It is the place where
they both trade or exchange goods or services in other words, it is where their transaction place.

The Online Ordering System can be described as a simple convenient way for customer to
purchase items online, no need to go to the mall. This system is enabled by the internet, where
customer visit your website, and browse through the various items before purchasing or ordering
the ones he/she wants on the website. The customer can they have their items to their doorstep or
at any location they choose. Payments can be made cash on delivery or any remittance center. This
method is completely safe, secure and reliable, and is revolutionizing the present online shop
industry.

Buyers now have the alternative option of buying a product or availing of a service from
offline as well as from online shops. With the increasing penetration of internet, these methods of
purchasing have become popular. Today people have many choices with reference to buying

venues, but the most recent one is buying through internet i.e. online shopping mode. Nowadays,
the Internet is being widely used for various purposes and has become part of daily life. At its
inception internet was used as a medium for communication only but with time it has become a
source to learn, entertain and most recently a medium for the exchange of goods and services

between buyer and seller. The internet now has resulted in a new mode of exchange between buyer
and sellers and has created an alternative for the traditional marketplace.

Online buying behavior is a type of behavior which is exhibited by customers while browsing
websites of a retailer in order to search, select and purchase goods and services, in order to fulfill
their needs and wants. It’s basically a behavior which is reflected by the purchaser during the
process of buying through the internet.

1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

General Problem

Our system is not accepting credit card or ATM (Automated Teller Machine) payment. Only the
admin can control the system, and the GPS (Global Positioning System) is unlocated to customer.
Some deliviries can’t not see the exact address of the buyer, some products are not really the same
as what they expected in the picture. Other buyers, confronting that the product that they already
bought is not what they wanted what it is. The carrier can’t manipulate the products that they going
to deliver, some of the client product packaging is not fully good, others have scratches or not
functioning.

Specific Problem

Now a days the life style of the people is different. People feel uncomfortable and time consuming
for going crowded markets. So, E-Shopping is a boon as it saves lot of time. Online shopping is a
process whereby consumers directly buy goods, services etc. from a seller without an intermediary
service over the Internet. Shoppers can visit web stores from the comfort of their house and shop
as by sitting in front of the computer. Online stores are usually available 24 hours a day and many
consumers have internet access both at work and at home. So, it is very convenient for them to
shop Online. One of the most enticing factors about online shopping, particularly during holiday
season is, it alleviates the need to wait in long lines or search from a store for a particular item.
Variety of goods are available in online. So, the researcher wants to know the preference of the

Project Development

 Research Phase:
This stage is where researchers are putting together a topic to be developed. In this part is
where the information for the particular subject created by the reserchers is will prepared
and collected. The information gathering was done by researching or articles and other
researchers from various university libraries and also the internet.

 Identification of Problems and Information of Objectives:

The identification of the problem is considered one of the most important stages of the
study. Finding the main problem is as complicated as finding its own solution. The goal
formulas are made to focus on a specific goal throughout the entire study. Researchers
also consider the use of relevant studies and literature to get more ideas from other
researchers who have similar studies. It can help them improve their research by
depending on the study with the same idea.

 Project planning and design:

This part of the study is where the reseaerchers are focused on how to improve the
system. System design is a key factor for the system's design and outcomes.

 Coding, testing and debugging:

The coding is how researchers will implement the ideas they have created and where they
have developed a program for the study of their particular subject. During the coding
process, trying the system to check errors is a must. If the error occurs, that is when
debugging is required. Debugging is the process of finding system errors.

 Software Evaluation:
These questions will be used by fifty (50) respondents to check the software. The results
of the questionnaires are computed and calculated using the average to see the system
acceptance.

Counterintuitively, double-clicking the xampp_start icon doesn't start XAMPP.

17. Resolve issues with Apache refusing to run. On some Windows 10 computers, Apache
won't run due to a "blocked port". This can happen for a couple of reasons, but there's a
relatively easy fix:[1]

Click Config to the right of the "Apache" heading.

Click Apache (httpd.conf) in the menu.

Scroll down to the "Listen 80" section (you can press Ctrl+F and type in listen 80 to find
it faster).

Replace 80 with any open port (e.g., 81 or 9080).

Press Ctrl+S to save the changes, then exit the text editor.

Restart XAMPP by clicking Quit and then re-opening it in administrator mode from its
folder.
