Data Privacy and Confidentiality Policy

UL respects your concerns about the privacy of the personal data you provide to us. Your acceptance
of this Data Privacy and Confidentiality Policy signifies your consent to the collection, use and
disclosure (processing) of your personal data for the sole purposes related to your recruitment as set
out herein.
Scope of Policy
This Data Privacy and Confidentiality Policyapply to all data including your application, and personal
data in particular provided by you in your job application via this applicant tracking system, and any
personal data obtained by UL from third parties in this relation. The applicant tracking system is
operated by Underwriters Laboratories LLC (hereafter called UL) and on behalf of the UL LLC Group
of companies located worldwide.

When using the applicant tracking system, UL’s Terms of Use and Cookie & Data Privacy and
Confidentiality Policy also apply for your job application and your personal data. This Data Privacy
and Confidentiality Policy will take precedence to the general UL Terms of Use and UL Cookie & Data
Privacy and Confidentiality Policy to the extent such terms conflict herewith.

Use of your personal data

All your personal data entered on the web page will be processed and disseminated with a view to
coordinate and assess whether UL or another company within the UL Group worldwide, have a job for
you and whether you are a relevant candidate or qualify for such job. Your personal data may be
transferred or stored and will be accessible worldwide to relevant employees in recruitment
departments, managers within the UL Group who are authorized to hire employees, and authorized
service partners (see description below) of UL acting on behalf of UL, all of which have a legitimate
need to access and process your personal data. If employed, your data may be transferred to relevant
UL company’s HR systems for administration purposes.

countries may be located outside your country, and/or the European Union. You understand and

Service providers can be either an external job-consultant hired by UL to assist with the recruitment
process (head hunter / job agency) and working alongside UL’s own HR personnel, an external job-
consultant to which UL has outsourced its recruitment process, or an external service provider hosting
the applicant tracking system which UL uses for the handling and storage of personal data from
applicants. All external firms have written agreements including clauses covering confidentiality and

Your personal data may be processed for conducting background checks. We will not contact any of
your current or past employers unless you expressly consent to us directly. If you apply for a job of a
particular entrusted position (such as but not limited to finance with access to funds), UL may require
a written statement from authorities about your criminal standing, and/or your personal data may be
used for a credit review of you and be processed by third party credit agency on behalf of UL, but only
when consented to by you and where permitted by applicable law.

Period and security of your data

Your personal data will be kept by UL or its authorized service partners acting on its behalf for up to
24 months (36 months for US residents). For each new application you make, you authorize UL to
keep your data for a new 24 (36 US) months period. If your account has not been active with an
application, it will be deleted after the expiry of the period without further notice. Please note that if
you are hired for a job, your data is transferred to our IT system for employees, and then used and
processed in accordance with UL's policies for employees.

You can at any time revoke your consent and application, by logging into your profile, selecting
“Update your profile”, and thereafter clicking “Withdraw”.

Your personal data is saved and stored on servers located either on the territory of European Union,
or in countries approved as having adequate data protection laws and is protected by external hosting
company who is bound agreement with UL.
