contemporary art.

‘’CORON’’ is one and the most popular creative work of art that can be found in the municipality
of tiwi and can be considered as an example of contemporary art. It’s generally made by taking
mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powder, and water and shaping them into desired forms. It is
mass produced by the artistic people of barangay putsan.
‘’Coron’’ a bicol dialect that means clay-pot or pottery is an ancient artifacts that is making grat
revival of fine arts, it revives ancient techniques or materials, and steep in antiquated images,
ideas and methods. That is to say ‘’coron’’ or ceramic art representation through its different form
and sizes (either round or hexagonal shapes) and designs can be considered as contemporary art
because it can revisit the past and at the same time can tackle issues of the present as well as the
future.

 How this or their arts relevant in their life?

This art are relevant in their life because aside from being a good source of income, it is also
considered as their cultural identity.

 Do you see your self as an artist?

No, I don’t see my self as an artist for one reasons; I suck at expressing through arts.
