This Farmer Crop And Livestock Record Book is compiled by We Effect as part of a programme to
improve crop and livestock productivity under the Livelihoods and Foods Security Programme funded
by UKAid. This record book aims to encourage record keeping by smallholder farmers. The record
book cover most crop and livestock often kept or cultivated by farmers. The book is filled out during
each crop or livestock cycle.
The Livelihoods Food Security Programme (LFSP) is a UK Department for International Development
(DFID) funded programme in Zimbabwe. The programme is managed by the Food and Agriculture
Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations and implemented through partners. Its overall goal is to
contribute to poverty reduction through increased incomes, food security and nutrition in eight target
districts of the selected three provinces of Zimbabwe. Each province is a cluster comprised of two or
three districts and a consortium of implementing partners is responsible for project execution in each
cluster.
EXTRA Consortium:
Extension Training for Rural Agriculture (EXTRA) is implementing LFSP in the 3 Midlands Province
districts. It is a consortium of 5 NGOs (WE EFFECT, Welthungerhilfe, Heifer International, ICRISAT,
and CTDO). EXTRA’s goal is to improve food and nutrition security through better agricultural
production and income generation. This will be achieved by supporting farmers to access relevant
information and skills through an improved and pluralistic extension system. This study circle material
is aimed at increasing farmer groups’ access to production and marketing information and knowledge
in a participatory manner.
Special thanks go to UKAid who provided financial support towards the development and printing of
this manual.
