LITERATURE REVIEW COMPETITION GUIDELINE

I. THEME AND SUBTHEME

1. Theme
”Holistic Approach in Pediatric Disease”

2. Subtheme
a. Advancement of Screening, Diagnosis and Management of Pediatric Disease
b. Application of Bio-Molecular Study in Diagnosis and Treatment of Pediatric Disease
c. Innovation in Management and Emergency Treatment of Pediatric Emergencies
d. Improvement of Pediatric’s Education and Promotion, Curration and Rehabilitation

II. TARGET
Undergraduate Students of Medical and Health Science Major.

III. GENERAL RULES

1. Medical Fiesta 2019 Literature Review competition is an International
wide competition
2. All participants are undergraduate students of medical and health science
major
3. A team consisted of 1-3 person
4. All team members must come from the same University
5. The leader of the team should not be a leader in other competition
6. The complete literature review had to be submitted before deadline
7. Your team are allowed to submit more than 1 (one) work with diffrent leader.

IV. ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS

1. Payment method
a. Participants should pay the administration fee before registering the
team. Payment is done by transferring the registration fee to the
account below

b. Registration fee amount
- 1st period : IDR 150.000
- 2nd period : IDR 180.000
2. Registration method
a. Participants should fill the registration form online and upload the payment receipt
in the Website medfiest.fk.ub.ac.id within 24 hours after transferring the
registration fee.
b. Participants should confirm the registration to the committee of Medical Fiesta 2019
by message or Line to Contact person of Literature Review Competition Diajeng
Olivia Putri Widiarti (+6281359136656/Line ID: diajengOPW) or Christika Ayu
Wedha Murti (085655639911/ID Line: christikaayu) with the same format:
“Country Name_University Name_Registration_Literature Review_Team Leader”
 (Example : Indonesia_Universitas Brawijaya_Registration_Literature
Review_Christika Ayu Wedha Murti). The confirmation must be done within
24 hours after online registration..
c. Registration period :
- 1st period : 1st of May – 15th of June 2019
- 2nd period :16th of June – 30th of July 2019
d. All registration requirements (including payment and confirmation) should be done
before each deadline based on registration period at 23.59 PM.

V. ARTICLE WRITING FORMAT

1. Review criteria
a. Article submitted in Medical Fiesta 2019 is an original work of the author and
must have not been submitted or published (oral or written) in any other event
nor media including conference, congress, journal, or competition
International, national, or regional.
b. Title and content of the article must correspond with the theme and subtheme
of Medical Fiesta 2019.
c. Content of the review contains current issue related to the theme and subtheme
2. Writing Style and Format
a. Language used in the article is English.
b. Manuscript of the article is typed in A4 paper with format .doc. Font used in
the article is Times New Roman, size 12 pt. Margins of the text are left 1 inch,
right 1 inch, top 1 inch, and bottom 1 inch. The manuscript is using single
spacing between line and 12 pt between heading and paragraph.
c. Any other local or non-English terms must be written in Italic.
d. Maximum number of tables used in the manuscript is 5. Author should not put
table exceeding this number. Title of the table is put at the top of the table and
should include consecutive Arabic numbering for each table. The font for title
of the table is using Times New Roman, 12 pt with capital letter in the
beginning of words used in title and using Center for title alignment.
Explanation of the table is put under the figure all abbreviations used in the
table must be explained. List source of table as appropriate.
e. Maximum number of figures used in the manuscript is 3. Author should not
put figure exceeding this number. Title of the figure is put at the bottom of the
figure and should include consecutive Arabic numbering for each figure. The
font for title of the figure is using Times New Roman, 12 pt with capital letter
in the beginning of words used in title and using Center for title alignment.
Explanation of the figure is put under the figure, all abbreviations used in the
figure must be explained. List source of figure as appropriate.
f. The references must be written down in Vancouver style. All references cited
in the text should be listed in the last section of the manuscript. The heading
of references section must be numbered consecutively in which they are first
mentioned in the text. Identify references in text, tables, and captions by
Arabic numerals superscript (e.g. numeral superscript: 1). Avoid using
abstracts as the references of article. If the references of the article are paper
accepted but not yet published should be designated as “unpublished data” “in
press” or “forthcoming”
 g. Article consist of minimum 5 pages and maximum 10 pages from title until
conclusion (reference not included).
h. Abstract of the review should not exceed 150 words. Texts for abstract written
in 12 pt Times New Roman fonts, single spacing between lines and 12 pt
between headings with no indentation. Abstract should contains 3-5 keywords
written below the abstract with italic text. Authors should include
introduction, objective of the work, methods, results, discussion and
conclusion without any citations in Abstract.
i. Author must submit letter of originality and curriculum vitae of each team
members.
j. Participants should use literature review template that can be downloaded in
official website of Medical Fiesta 2019.

VI. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Participants should complete the payment before submitting the literature review
2. The complete literature review had to be submitted before each deadline (based on registration
period).
3. Each team is prohibited to resubmit their literature review.
4. Registration and submission period:
- 1st period : 1st of May – 15th of June 2019
- 2nd period :16th of June – 30th of July 2019
All entries must be submitted before each deadline based on registration period at
23.59.
5. The review must be submitted to the email address litrevmedfiest2019@gmail.com
with subject “University Name – First Author” (eg. UniversitasBrawijaya –
Christika Ayu Wedha Murti) with attachments:
- Literature Review
- Curriculum Vitae*
- Letter of Originality*
- Photo/Scan of Identity Card**
- Photo/Scan of Student ID Card**
- Registration form*
- Pass photo 3x4**

All files must be gathered in one file and submitted in .rar/.zip
6. Participants should confirm the registration to the Contact Person of Literature
Review Competition Diajeng Olivia Putri Widiarti (+6281359136656/Line ID:
diajengOPW) or Christika Ayu Wedha Murti (085655639911/ID Line:
christikaayu) through text message of Whatsapp or line message with format
“Country name_University Name_Submission_Literature Review_First Author”
(eg. Indonesia_Universitas Brawijaya_Submission_Literature Review_Christika
Ayu Wedha Murti). Confirmation must be done within 24 hours after the
submission.
VII. SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Submitted papers will be scored during the preliminary round using judging
criteria with blinding method where all author’s name and identity they presented
will be omitted from the paper.
2. Participants who proceed to the final round should submit their full paper to the
email litrevmedfiest2019@gmail.com.
3. The Finalists will proceed to the final round. The result will be sended to the
participant’s email.
4. In the final round, Finalists should present their paper in the form of oral
presentation using power point application.
5. Each finalist will be given 8 minutes for presentation and another 8 minutes for
the Q&A and discussion.
6. The decision made by the judges is final.

X. GUIDELINE FOR LITERATURE REVIEW FINALIST

1. Each team should make a presentation in Microsoft Power Point. Participants are
encouraged to make a presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. The committee
is not responsible if there is a motion animation that is not readable on the
committee’s laptop. The slide number is not restricted. Participants must use the
committee’s laptop and are not allowed to use a personal laptop.
2. Slide content should not contain any forms of racial discrimination or
pornography, in case of infringement to this point, then all decisions are the
authority of the committee.
3. The softcopy presentation is collected at the Technical Meeting. The committee
will not accept any softcopy presentation on the day of the presentation.
4. The time given by the committee is 8 minutes for presentation and 8 minutes
for questions and answers. If the presentation time runs out, participants must
stop the presentation, without exception.
5. Teams are evaluated based on their written abstract research and their presentation
