Andi Narogong Exposes Setya Novanto`s

Involvement in E-KTP Case
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the latest testimony
provided by Andi Agustinus or Andi Narogong during a trial had confirmed House of Representatives
Speaker (DPR) Setya Novanto’s role in the electronic ID card (e-KTP) corruption case.

“We’re currently digging some evidence based on Andi’s confession,” KPK deputy chief Saut
Situmorang told Tempo yesterday, Dec. 1.

In addition to confirming Setya’s involvement in the graft case that caused Rp2.3 trillion in state
losses, Saut added, Andi’s confession would speed up the filing process. “Our allegations have been
proven. Everything is confirmed by the concerned person [Andi],” Saut added.

Andi, who previously remained tight-lipped about the case, finally exposed Setya Novanto’s
involvement in the Rp5.84 trillion worth of project. He revealed that there were meetings held
between Setya and main actors of the case. One of the meetings was held at the DPR Speaker's
house in South Jakarta in November 2011.

“Setya asked us to work with his partner Oka Masagung. He said Oka had links to banks,” Andi said
during the trial.

During the meeting, Andi explained, Setya initiated a discussion about the amount and the
distribution of the fees taken from the project to DPR members.

Setya’s lawyer Fredrich Yunadi said the KPK should not believe Andi’s testimony too soon, as
anyone could make any statement. Fredrich also questioned the evidence of communications at the
DPR, Setya’s office and house.

“Is there any witness? When did it happen? Where is the evidence? Talking is easy,” he said.

Fredrich also warned Andi that the could be charged with criminal sanctions should he committed a
perjury. He also said that the KPK would not be able to touch Setya Novanto. “I believe that the KPK
has no evidence. Andi’s statement cannot serve as evidence,” said the lawyer.
