Mike writes…
This year we are doing something a little different with
our Fuel ministry. We love Fuel and we really believe
that God has, and will continue to use it to encourage
young people in their journey of faith, as well as giving

friends” John 15:13

is that we will be able to draw new youth groups into

the Fuel family as well as broadening the horizons of us
all by seeing new churches and meeting new people.
The 2nd more exciting aspect of Fuel this term is that on 3 occasions during the
year we are going to have an totally outreach-focused Fuel evening. The evening
will no doubt look a bit different from ‘normal’ Fuel but we want it to be a safe and
welcoming space for young people to come along to and see what we, and Jesus, are
all about. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:22 - “to the weak I become weak,
to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible
means I might save some.”
This year my hope is that leaders and young people will seek to invest
in the lives of one or two friends who don’t yet know Jesus, to ‘lay
down our lives for them’, to seek ‘by all possible means’ a path for
them to meet Jesus. I have no doubt we will have a lot of fun, we
will grow and learn many things but ultimately I pray that
we will encourage and disciple one another as well
as enabling someone close to us to find the full life
that Jesus offers. They also get discover a group
of phenomenal people who are willing to “do
life” together while we all work out
what a decision to follow Jesus
means for our lives.
Pray for us.

l A new term. The 13th year of 267. There’s lots energy & excitement, and so many
opportunities.
l Time over the summer to rest, be with family & friends and breathe!
We give thanks that Ben, last years intern, is going to stay involved with 267 while at Uni
and support our online presence. We are so thankful for all he has done this last year and
so it is wonderful to be able to keep him as part of the team
l We have been some very generous gifts this last few weeks. And even though we
didn’t win the £50,000 grant we applied for we still know God is going ahead of us
l The 267 trustees continue to be such a wonderful source of wisdom, encouragement
and support. As we are in the new season of ministry I am ever-thankful for them
l At our first network breakfast of the term we had 29 people!!! We are in such a great
place to do ministry and the support and unity is truly wonderful
l We had great fund playing some beach volleyball at the end of the summer term. There
are so many utterly wonderful and gifted young people in our youth groups. We are so
blessed. It was such a joy to hang out with them.

Some scripture that is encouraging us at the moment:

Proverbs 4:10-13 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years
of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom and
lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will
not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to
instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.
Please...
l This year in FUEL we are launching the ‘Greater Love’ Tour where FUEL is going to
be ‘on the road’ each month and visiting 9 of our partner churches. Pray that all will be
encouraged and pray for the team and the young people as we spend time creating 3
outreach-focused FUEL evenings during the year. Check out our great new flyers and tour
t-shirts on our Instagram feed - @267life

l Pray for us as we seek the next step for employing another team member.
With Katherine now having moved on we are thinking and praying about what role would
best serve this next season of 267.

l Pray for The Haven, Xsite and CHARGE as we consider how to grow and resource
them this year

l In the October half term we are taking some people away for our FUEL Leadership
Adventure. This will be the 4th time we have done something like this and each time
there has been much fruit. It is so important to invest deep, quality time into young
people and we get to do this on the Leadership Adventure. Pray for people to sign up and
for churches to be behind their leadership exploration!

l Pray for our team and trustee day away on 21st September as we look at some
big picture vision planning.

l We believe that by launching the ‘Ministry Partnership Initiative’ we can help the
church have a real impact on youth and children’s ministry in the area. But with anything
bold, new and adventurous there is often a financial cost involved. Pray for the 267 team
and trustees as we consider how to wisely invest our limited finances. We trust God with
all we have and we do truly believe that this idea is part of what God is calling us to. If
you’d like to know more about how you can donate and support this new, exciting and
collaborative venture then Mike would love to buy you a coffee!
