Mike writes…
The light may be small and slightly shrouded, but it is growing, hopeful and
preparing to be brighter than ever.
I don’t know whether you feel in that ‘in-between’ space where life does
seem to be starting to open up, but then you get slowed down again.
No doubt this is going to be our rhythm for a while.
As this term has unfolded I have felt a real and deep sense of hope and
new abundant life emerging. I think it was our ‘BackToLife’ residential at
the end of July that really started this sensation and it has just continued.
What this ‘abundant life’ looks like for us is a range of new ministry and
opportunity. This term we began a well-being cafe called Thrive, we are
moving increasingly close to being able to share that
we have a new 267 home and are moving in,
Fuel is a real joy, God has been generous in so
many ways, new workers are starting in our
area and are passionate about unity, the team
are at the National Youth Ministry Weekend
with 1000 youth leaders in November, 267
Alumni have met twice and so much more.
God is good!
I believe it is these ‘seeds of light’ that we need
to hold onto tightly, pray into and share with
others. I know we are not completely free from the
pandemic yet, but there is much light to celebrate
and we are called to be people of hope, and that
hope needs to be shared, spoken about and on
display for all to see. As 267 we want to create
spaces where young people and leaders can gather,
where they can share stories and receive support
and encouragement. This next 6 months we are
going to ‘gatherers’, building community where each
of us can embrace the seeds of hope and light that
are present.
