Activity 16:
A Life Story To Be Told

Every individual has its unique physical characteristics, personal traits and even a
specific role within the family and community and so do I. Hence, discovering these are
not easy and takes time. Thus, asking guidance to the Almighty Father is a must to fully
know ourselves.
Physical Characteristics. Firstly, I believe that I am beautiful because I am one of
God’s creation. But having a beautiful appearance is not everything, you need to put in
mind that ethics is more important to bear with people that surrounds you whenever and
wherever you go and that is what I am embracing. It is not enough to be beautiful outside
when in fact you can be both — beautiful inside and out to conquer the world. Secondly,
I can dance and sing. Though I am not extremely good in it, at the very least I could
entertain people.
Personal Traits. I am so grateful to God for having these traits which makes me
unique as an individual. First, is that I can make my friends and family happy and burst
into laughter through my ‘magic words'. Whenever I do that, I really felt flattered, blessed
and blissful knowing that they appreciated those 'magic words' of mine. Second, is that I
am good in comforting and advising people whenever they felt so down and in the state
of being problematic. I really don’t know how I do it — that feeling when you do not know
where did you get those words of wisdom you have used to enlighten someone — maybe,
someone is working on me, or probably God is using me as his instrument of help. Lastly,
I am capable of writing in my own unique style. Though I could not go beyond someone
who is extremely smart, I believe that being smart is not the measurement of being a
writer, truth is our experiences is what makes as one. So I am proud of it no matter what
they say. As for me, I will be forever grateful to God for these traits.
Role in the Family. Within the family, I am the eldest woman between my siblings.
Together with my younger sister, we have separated already from our grandparents to
pursue our degree here in the province of Nabunturan. Since then, I became the budgeter
of the family. To be honest, it is really difficult to handle a money especially when it is
budgeted already by my mother and I need to budget it one more time for there are some
instances that I need to use the money for some important matters. Yes, it’s hard yet it is
of help to me because I know someday, I could be a mother and its role is to manage
the household and that what I am practicing in the present times. Of course it gives an
advantage so in the near future I know how to do my role confidently.
Role in the Community. For now, within the community, I am a student. But not just
an ordinary student because I do have my goals. Through my scholarship which is the
Compostela Valley Scholarship Program (CVSP), I became one of those volunteers in
the community — offering our help for the better which is one of my goals as a student.
The CVSP have molded me to become a better individual living in a society. We did
extend our help in some Day Care Centers by giving them school supplies and improving
their classroom so that the children there could study comfortably. It really feels great to
see the smiles of each children after our adaptation. It relieved the tiredness we have felt
along the process.
So whatever and whoever you are, do not conceal in midst of darkness. Instead,
show up and let your true colors shine. God has a very good plan for you — just like how
He had planned everything in my life including why I possessed those physical
characters, traits and even my role within the family and the community. Be forever
grateful in everything because you never know when and how it will end.
