* HIGH VOLT AGE CHECK

CAUTION : There is no HIGH VOLTAGE ADjUSTMENT on this chassis..The +11(::t2.0)
DC volt power supply must be properly adjustedto insure the corra:t high voltage.
1) Connect an accurate high voltage meter to anode of the picture tube.
2) Turn on the receiver. Set the BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST controls to minimum.
(zero beam current)
3) High voltage will be measuredabout 11KV.
4) Rotate the BRIGHTNESS contrai to the both extremes to be sure the high voltage does
not exceedthe limit of 12.5KV under any conditions.

-29 -
COLaR PURITY AD jUSTMENT
NOTE: Before attempting any purity adjustments, the receiver shou1dbe operate far at least
flfteen minptes.
1) Demagnetize the picture using a deguassingcoil.
2) Turn the CONTRAST and BRIGHTNESS controls to maximum.
3) Adjust REO and BLUE BIAS contrai (VR601 and VR603) to provide only a green raster.
Advance the GREEN BIAS control(VR602)if necessry.
4) Loosen the clamp screw holding the yoke, and slide the yoke backward to provide vertical
green belt(zone) in the picture screen.
5) Rotaste and spread the tabs of the 1 purity magnet(Seenfig 20) around the neck of the
picture tube until the green belt is in the center of the screen. At the same time, center
the raster vertically.
6) Move the yoke slowly forward unti! a unifonn green screenis obtained. Tighten the clamp
screw or the yoke temporarily.
7) Check the purity of the red and blue raster by adjusting the BIAS controls.
8) ObtaiJ!eda white raster, refeIring to "CRT GRAY SCALE ADjUSTMENT ."
9) Proceed with convergenceadjustment.

CONVERGENCE AD jUSTMENTS
Note: Before attempting any convergence adjustments, the receiver should be operated far at
least fifteen minutes.

CENTER CONVERGENCE ADJUSTMENTS

1) Receive crosshatch pattem with a colar bar signal generator
2) Adjust the BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST controls far well defmed pattem.
3) Adjust two tabs of the 4-Pole Magnets to change the angle between them. And superimpose
red a blue vertical lines in the center area of the picture screen.
4) Tum bolli tabs of the same time without changing position between them to superimpose red
il and blue horizontal lines at the center of the screen.

5) Adjust the tabs of 6-Pole Magnets to superimpose redlblue line with green alle. Adjusting the
angle affects the vertical lines and rotating bolli manets affects the horiaontal lines.
6) Repeat adjustménts 3,4,5 observing red,green and blue movemetn,because 4-Pole Magnets and

6-Pole Magnets interact.

CIRCUMFERENCE CONVERGENCE AD JUSTMENT

1) Loosen the clampl screw of deflection yoke to allow the yoke to tilt.
2) Tilt front of the deflection yoke up or down to obtain better convergence in circurnference.
Push the nK>unted wedge into the space between picture tube and the yoke to hold the yoke

temporarily.
3) PIace other wedge at bottom and remove the cover paper to, stick.
4) Tilt front of the yoke right or left to obtain better convergence in circurnference.
5) Keep the yoke positioned and put another wedge in either upper space. Remove cover paper
and stick the wecige on picture tube to secure the yoke.
6) Detach the temporarily mounted wedge and put it in another upper space. Stick it on

picture tube to secure the yoke.

7) After inserting three wedges, recheck overall convergence. Tighten the screw firmly to hold
the yoke tightly in pIace.
