Earthquake is one of the famous disasters that caused people died or injured. It cannot be detected
when and where it would be happened to anyone.This is mostly happened in places where people are hanging
around and working. Earthquake is understood by being a natural phenomenon caused by the constant
movements of the earth’s crustal platesand due to climate change too.

In line with NDRRMC’s National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, Kataasan Elementary School conducted
the Third Quarter Earthquake Drill last August 16, 2019. This aimed to teach and train the pupils to be prepared
and equipped with the knowledge to what to do in time of calamities such as this.

The drill began at 8:00 o’clock in the morning through long ring of the bell. Pupils from their respective
classroom duck, cover and hold under the desk/chairs. Followed by the ringing of the short bell, the pupils
started to pre-occupy their rooms and went to the open areas.

After, the SDRRM Coordinator through the help of the other teachers, had a short discussion and
reminders to the pupils what to do when these calamities arise.
