1- Day Mandatory Safety Orientation for Vessel Crew


In our continuous efforts to eliminate Serious/High Potential Incidents, UN Marine Safety
team is poised to align current orientation/induction program for all marine vessel crews
(initial and during crew changes).

Effective April 1, 2015, all vesselcrew mobilizing to Mobil Producing and Esso Exploration
and Production locations shallundergo 1 day Mandatory Safety Orientationat our
Shorebase facility in Onne.

Objective/Benefits to crew include:

 Ensuring all vessel crew and contractors working on onboard vessels receive a
formalized and standardized instructions in Safety Security Health and Environment
(SSHE) matters directly related to the services they will be rendering when in
ExxonMobil field
 Provide clear guidance to Vessel Key Officers on their roles and responsibilities as
Safety Leaders and obtaining their commitment towards Nobody Gets Hurt.
 Familiarization with the content of the Marine Operations Guide (MOG) and how it
shall be applied to everyday activities in UN offshore locations
 Educate vessel crew on basic safety systems and practices in UN offshore locations.
 Create safety awareness & communicate to vessel crew the proper actions for
mitigating and reporting operational hazards
 Communicate application of Safety Barriersfor safe work practices - JSA, RA, PTW,
LMRA, MOC, etc.

Your Role: To enable us achieve this goal, we expect the followingfrom you:

 All orientation requests (mobilization or crew change) must be received by UN


Marine*at least 48 Hours before date of mobilization or crew change.
 Valid crew list must accompany the request
 All crew sailing out with the vessel must be made available for the orientation
 No crew change/sail-out shall be carried out without completing the 1 day Mandatory
Safety Orientationprogram.
