Gradation Experiment

FA Procedure
1. Obtain approximately 2 kg of fine aggregate.
2. Split the sample twice using the sample splitter.
3. Weigh all sieves and record on data sheet.
4. Put 500 g of fine aggregate in the top sieve.
5. Sieve sample for 5 minutes, occasionally varying sieve speed.
6. Weigh all sieves and record on data sheet.
7. Perform data reduction calculations.

CA Procedure
1. Obtain approximately 1 kg of coarse aggregate.
2. Select Sieves based on Table 12-4 (4.3 in PCA)
3. Weigh all sieves and record on data sheet.
4. Put 1000 g in the top sieve.
5. Sieve sample for 5 minutes, occasionally varying sieve speed.
6. Weigh all sieves and record on data sheet.
7. Perform data reduction calculations.
