INTRODUCTION:

Hi my name is_______, what’s your name?

Hi (name of student) nice to meet you!
By the way I believe this is the first time we are having a
class together? Right!
SO let me introduce myself to you briefly, Again my name
is teacher_______ (tell something about yourself)
How about you (Name of Student)? Can you tell me
something about yourself?
(student answers)
Wow that’s great!
By the way, How are you today?

Now (student) I can see here that you booked an IELTS class
today right?
May I know why did you book an IELTS class with me? (Student
answers)
So if you have plans of taking the IELTS test, when do you plan
to take it?
And what is your Target score? Student answers
Ok, so don’t worry we will work together so we can achieve
that target score

Ok, we will be having a simulation of the IELTS speaking test later but
before we do that let me set your expectations first,
For the next 12 to 15 minutes I will not be your teacher but I will play
the role of an IELTS examiner. I will not help you, correct you or guide
you. I will just ask the questions and you have to remember to give
your answers and the reason behind it for parts 1 and 3, for part 2
make sure that you maximize the two minute mark. Also, once we start
the simulation I will turn off my camera so you can focus on your
answers. Once we're done, I will turn it back on and I will give you my
feedback, corrections and suggestions,
Is that clear?? (if the student says yes, or they don’t have any question)
Ok so let me turn off my camera so we can start the simulation
(Camera should be off already)

Welcome to the speaking section of the IELTS speaking exam. My name

is __________. And I'll be your examiner. The test is going to take about
11-14 minutes. There will be three parts. I will give you instructions for
each part. I'm going to record this for marking purposes, is that okay?
I'll be asking you few questions.
Can we start with your full name please? (Student answers)
Where are you from?

Part 1: Script

So let's begin with part one.

I'm going to ask you some general questions on a topic. Are you ready
to begin?
Let’s talk about _____> (go to the material / look for part 1 topic and
question)

Part 2: Script
That's the end of part 1. Now, we're going to start part two. I'm going
to give you a card with a specific topic and you will have one minute to
prepare your answer and you may take notes if you wish. I'll tell you
when you’re one minute preparation is up and then you can speak for
1-2 minutes.
Here’s the card. (Send the screenshot)
(After sending) :

Can you see the card now? (if yes)

Your one minute to prepare begins now.

(After 1 minute :)

Okay, so your one minute preparation is up. Your ninety seconds to

speak begins now.

When 2 minutes is up, interrupt the student by saying ‘Thank

you’ , then proceed to part 3.

Part 3 : Script

Now , let's have part 3. I'll be asking questions related to part 2. Are you
ready?
(go to part 3 on the material)

If they are done in part 3 :

Thank you, that’s the end of the speaking test!

TURN on camera and smile

hi im back! So how did you feel about the speaking test earlier?)
(Student answers)

I do apologize if I was not helping you earlier because the purpose of

the simulation is we want you to experience how it feels like on the
actual speaking test. We also want to prepare you not only mentally
but also emotionally
So (Name of student) I will now give you my feedback and correction on
the simulation, are you ready?
Ok so let’s begin with Part 1 :
Things to remember:
Give feedback and corrections on each part of the simulation (1 - 2 - 3)
-specifically tell them the mistake and give them examples to correct
the mistake
Utilize the chat box!!!!
-make sure that when you are correcting the student and giving them
examples and feedback, TYPE it in the CHATBOX

• Use your notepads to easily write down your feedbacks and

suggestions for each parts. Use this as your format:
Part 1

- feedback

= suggestions

Part 2

- feedback

= suggestion

Part 3
- feedback

= suggestion

So you can easily copy-paste it on your chat box.

Now (name of student) let me give you your scores for each of the
IELTS Criteria

Things to remember:
Give score and detailed suggestion on each Criteria
- tell them their score and why is that the score (according to the IELTS
Band Descriptors)
-NEVER forget to give them DETAILED suggestion on how they can
improve the score on each criteria

BAND DESCRIPTORS
* Let me make your explanation easier, and sounding more natural
* Please read this first, you may add some if you feel like it
* NO NEED to copy-paste the definition of each band descriptors, what
you just need to write is shown there already

> FLUENCY and COHERENCE - so here, we measure your ability to speak

at length, to communicate logically, clearly, and appropriately without
difficulty in English.

Band 4 and 5 - PASTE THIS ONE ON CHAT BOX --- I gave you this score
because you were not able to think of the correct grammar or
vocabulary to explain yourself. This will certainly leads to 'slow speech
and repetition’.

- DON'T COPY-PASTE THIS PART, JUST READ IT, PRETENDING THAT IT IS

AN ADDITIONAL COMMENT --- (I understand that in your own language,
you do not have to think as much as you do in English and this leads to
a very smooth and regular pattern of words. But, in English, especially
in a test, you are often searching for the perfect word or phrase and
this causes problems. Now here is what you can do: )

- NOW PASTE THIS ONE ON CHAT BOX --- (record yourself once focusing
on grammar and vocabulary and then again talking about the same
thing but not worrying about making mistakes. )
- ADDITIONAL COMMENT;DO NOT PASTE THIS ON THE CHAT BOX,
MAKE SURE TO SOUND NATURAL--- (You should do this regularly when
reviewing what you have studied that day. Practice talking at a normal
speed without thinking about making grammar mistakes and your
fluency will gradually improve your speaking skills)

Band 6 - PASTE THIS ONE ON CHAT BOX --- I gave you this score
because you used some discourse markers inappropriately, this will
actually lower your marks and do more harm than good. Aside from
that, you lose coherence at times that leads to some self-correction and
repetition.

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- My suggestion is, make sure you know

what each discourse marker actually means and when to use them. You
don’t have to learn them all; just a few for each function. Now let me
show you some examples of discourse markers:

Take a screenshot of this and send it to your student

Band 7 - PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- I gave you this score because you
used discourse markers both accurately and appropriately, or in other
words, you know the meaning and you only use them when necessary.

> LEXICAL RESOURCE - This scoring category measures your vocabulary.

You will be assessed on your ability to use words appropriately (in the
right context) and accurately (with the correct meaning).

Band 4 and 5 - I gave you this score because you were struggling to talk
about a range of topics since you don’t have enough vocabulary. You
only used words with ‘limited flexibility’.

- DON'T COPY-PASTE THIS PART, JUST READ IT, PRETENDING THAT IT IS

AN ADDITIONAL COMMENT --- (LIMITED FLEXIBILITY means that your
grammatical range is not enough to express your thoughts, now here
are some tips for you: )

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- You should know the meaning, the

grammar, collocations, synonyms and antonyms of this word, as well as
what context it should be used in. If you don’t know all of these, don’t
use it. It is better to use simpler vocabulary and make no mistakes than
use very high level vocabulary that is wrong.
- JUST READ THIS ADDITIONAL COMMENT, DO NOT PASTE IT ON THE
CHATBOX --- (If you really like to improve it, buy a notebook to write
any new words you hear or read. Record those with meanings,
synonyms, antonyms, grammar, pronunciation, pictures, example
sentences etc. or whatever you think will help you remember them. )

Band 6 - I gave you this score because, you have enough vocabulary to
talk about most common topics but you have some ‘inappropriacies’.
This means that you can make your meaning clear by using relevant
vocabulary but you made occasional mistakes.

- SAY THIS AFTER PASTING THE FEEDBACK FOR BAND 6: (So if you like to
work on that part, here is what you can do: )

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- You should know the meaning, the

grammar, collocations, synonyms and antonyms of this word, as well as
what context it should be used in. If you don’t know all of these, don’t
use it. It is better to use simpler vocabulary and make no mistakes than
use very high level vocabulary that is wrong.

Band 7 - I gave you this score because you have a wide range of
vocabulary and can talk clearly about nearly all common topics. Aside
from that, you can also use some idioms, when appropriate, and can
also use collocations correctly, however some small mistakes are still
observed.

> GRAMMATICAL RANGE AND ACCURACY - so this is your ability to

avoid making grammar mistakes. You should also have a wide enough
range of grammar to be able to talk about a range of things and use
complex sentences.

Band 4 and 5 - I gave you this score because your answers normally
consists with simple sentences that are relatively error free; however
you made frequent mistakes when attempting more complex
sentences.

- JUST READ THIS ADDITIONAL COMMENT, DO NOT PASTE IT ON THE

CHATBOX --- When trying to use more advanced structures, you tend to
make grammar mistakes that stops me, as your examiner,
understanding the meaning of the sentence. So here is what you can
do:

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- You should identify your common

grammar mistakes, what are your weaknesses when it comes to
constructing your ideas in mind.. Remember that it is better to use a
simple sentence that is correct, than a complex sentence with lots of
big mistakes.
Band 6 - I gave you this score because your answers used a mix of
complex and simple sentences but mistakes are made more than 50%
of the time. The mistakes tend to be small flaws that don’t stop me,
being your examiner, understanding what is being said.

- JUST READ THIS ADDITIONAL COMMENT, DO NOT PASTE IT ON THE

CHATBOX --- ( So just like vocabulary, use the 100% rule- )

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- You should only make a sentence when

you are sure it is 100% correct. It is better to write a simple sentence
that is correct, than a complex sentence with lots of big mistakes.

Band 7 - I gave you this score because your answers uses a variety of
complex structures and more than 50% of sentences have no errors at
all. There are still some grammar mistakes but these tend to be minor.
> PRONUNCIATION - So this is where we check if you can pronounce
the word correctly. Your ability to use intonation like the rise and fall of
the voice while you speak

Band 4 and 5 - I gave you this score because you mispronounced words
frequently and this gave me difficulty in understanding your answers.

- JUST READ THIS ADDITIONAL COMMENT, DO NOT PASTE IT ON THE

CHATBOX --- ( I also noticed that there were no emotions when you
speak, you sounded like you are not interested on the topic, now here
is what you can do: )

- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- Try to sound like you are actually

interested or passionate about the topics. If you have positive feelings
about what you are saying, intonation will normally follow. I know that
some of the topics are a little boring, but try to pretend you are
interested.

Band 6 - I gave you this score because you generally be understood but
there are times that me, as your examiner finds it difficult to
understand what is being said because of pronunciation errors.

- JUST READ THIS -- (in order for you to improve at this part, )
- PASTE THIS ON CHATBOX-- put some stress or intonation for the most
important word/s in the sentence so it will sound better. If you do not
apply proper intonation, your answers will be weak

Band 7 - I gave you this score because there were minor problems for
pronunciation and intonation, but words are clearer and easier to
understand throughout the exam .

So, let me now dive you your overall score

(Add all the score and divide by four)
• If student did not reach the target sore encourage them.
Be Mindful of the time.
-the class is only 25 mins
-introduction 2-3 mins
-simulation 15 mins
-closing and feedback 7-10 mins

PLEASE DON’T SOUND LIKE YOU ARE READING IT, HENCE, TRY
TO SOUND MORE NATURAL, BE A GOOD ACTOR OR ACTRESS!!!
