Hi guys, took pte 3 days ago and scored overall 75. speaking 81, writing 80,
listening 74, reading 73. I'm an average student with decent english skills. The
score needed for me was 50+ in each band and an overall score of 55-60. I was
shocked after checking my score which I didnt even expect that too with 10 days of
preparation. I would like to share my experience and plans that I followed while
preparing which I hope might help some people. I was also shocked when guys
mentioning their scores like 70,75,80,85,90 when I was looking at the comment
section. But now realised everyone can achieve by having proper planning and
following templates.

1.First of all, I watched a 2 hour video of language academy which will help you
know about the exam pattern and will explain the tips and templates you need to
follow, and took the notes of every thing from beginning to end which took nearly
5 hours for me to complete the whole video because I had to pause the video and
take the notes.
2.Next, I compared the templates of language academy and other sources , and I
followed the templates which looked easy as well as which made sense.
3.After that, I decided which templates to use for a particular module. Below I'm
mentioning the tips and templates I followed from different channels.

--SPEAKING-
1.read aloud-->maintain fluency and pronounce words clearly.Dont go too fast or
too slow. Tip: maintain smile while reading , this will boost your confidence as
this is the 1st section you need to be positive.

2.Repeat sentence-->Dont try to write anything on the paper because we dont have
enough time to form a sentence. Just memorize and speak. if you know only 7 words
out of 12 speak 7 words clearly and fluently. For example: "Lion is the king of
the forest " here you only know lion, king, the forest , simply say lion king the
forest. Dont stop in between and maintain fluency which will add a lot of marks
in speaking.

3. Describe Image-->followed Anusha's template(milestone study) .

4.Retell lecture-->followed Anusha's template(milestone study)

5.Answer short questions-->Dont focus much on this..i just listened to weekly

predictions on language academy as well as Apeuni weekly predictions. If you dont
know the answer speak something from the question which will add marks to
speaking.

--WRITING--
1.Summarize written text---> followed Anusha's technique(milestone study).To put
simply sentence1, and sentence2.
2.Essay----->Language academy..which starts with "Topic" has become an integral
part of the rising debate......

---READING----
1. Fill in the blanks (both). Here, I havent followed any grammar just focused on
the content and meaning. However, While watching a 2 hour video of language
academy, I listened to that grammar rules and also one day before the exam I
watched a 2 hour video of NAKUL which covered all the grammar rules. Although
those grammar rules helped me like 20% , In the exam I didnt follow any grammar
rules , I just focused on content and its meaning and i chosed wisely. But best
to know basic grammar rules which will help out in some situations.
2. Reorder paragraph--->Dont waste too much time here , Understand the
content and arrange it in the order. I spent 2 minutes here thats it.Luckily, i
got easy one.

3.Remaining sections like multiple choice single and multiple answers dont
focus much and dont waste time choose the option as soon as possible.

---LISTENING---
1.Summarise spoken text--> followed Anusha's template(milestone study) where she
said to use keywords but langauge academy said write 4-5 sentences from audio. I
was confused which to use then I followed the combination of Anushas template and
language academy. Like, the template is Anusha's but I wrote sentences instead of
keywords.

2.multiple choice single and multiple, dont waste time select a suitable answer
and move.

3.Fill in the blanks----> write the missing blanks on the booklet and enter them
after the audio. Be with the audio dont move too fast.

4.Select incorrect words---> Scoring section , dont loose marks here. It might be
helpful if you read out the words along with the speaker. So that you might know
which word is incorrect.

5.complete the sentence....last word with beep. Listen to the audio carefully,
mainly focus when the audio is about to end and choose the word or sentence.

6. Write from dictation----> Atleast 4-5 will come in the exam.High scoring
section which adds lot of marks to writing as well as listening. So try to
complete other listening sections as soon as possible , and save atleast 5
Minutes for write from dictation. Tips: I wrote first letters of each word on
the paper and kept reading the sentence in my mind while typing so that i won't
forget the initials that i noted. When the sentences are easy i typed directly
without taking notes. Depends on the student if he/she thinks can type directly
from their mind they can type it,else use initials technique or any other
technique you are comfortable with.

Be chill before the exam , I was smiling all the time even before the exam. Even
with the lady who was taking the biometrics and verifying students details, i was
communicating with smile.
I have scored more than I desired. When an average student like me can do, you can
also score well. Anyways all the best for the guys who are planning to take PTE. Go
to the exam like, Its not a rocket science just a english exam. BE POSITIVE , and
PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE...daily.
