INTRODUCTION
Recently, I took my IELTS Exam and by the Mercy of Allah I scored an
8 average band. I posted on my Linkedin and got a massive response
in the form of DMs and comments.
So I came to know that there is a immediate need to help my fellow
brothers and sisters to score good in their IELTS Exams.
GENERAL MISTAKES
- Dont use online mocktest webiste to prepare for your exam. These website
These website exams are really easy. They create false hope that the
original exam might be easy too.
- Don’t start preparing for IELTS Exam as your Board Exams. You can’t
memorize (ratta) answers as you did in your previous exams
- Don’t Get stressed about the exam, the exam is neither too difficult nor a
piece of cake. Stressing out will always result in bad scores.
- Remember this is a language test, they are not testing how intelligent
or sharp you are. They are trying to test your language skills. They don’t
want to get the right answers from you (in writing and speaking), in most
of the cases they just want to know whether you can have a conversation
or whether you can write some formal emails.
- Don’t use ball points or pointers to solve your IELTS Exam, Always use a lead
pencil so that you can erase and change the answers if you want to.

You should use even more youtube channels and learn from everyone.
Every Channel gives you a different technique. Combine all techniques
to make a best technique for yourself.
These Youtube Channels are just the one that came to my mind.
LETS START PREPARING
Download IELTS CAMBRIDGE Books from version 17-11. This is the only
material we will be using to study for the exam.
Search IELTS CAMBRIDGE BOOK 17 PDF on Google and you will be easily able
to download the pdf file.
Use Youtube Channels only to get an understanding of the
QUESTION TYPES in every module.
Remember, the more you practive, the more you are going to score.
You can be bad with english but with practice, I assure you that you too
can sore good.
Some people say they find getting good scores in listening difficult and
many find reading difficult.
But these two modules are of the core importance.
1 MONTH
Listening Writing
Reading Speaking
This way we will be covering each module. You can shorten or lengthen
the time span according to the time avaialable to you.
LISTENING
Each IELTS CAMBRIDGE BOOK has 4 exams. Each exam has 4 modules
The best way to prepare for a listening exam is to open the book as
PDF on your laptop. Start from the first exam, open the first section
LISTENING. Lets say you start with IELTS CAMRIDGE BOOK 17.
This would look like this
You will get bad scores generally when you start. They might be as
low as 15/40, 18/40. Don’t worry. Everyone was at this same place and
point. You can only improve through practice, practice and practice!
You should get the guidance on question types from youtube channels
For Example
- Fill in the blank
- Match the Heading
- Multiple Choice
- Etc
You will get bad scores generally when you start. They might be as
low as 15/40, 18/40. Don’t worry. Everyone was at this same place and

Only play the audio once even if you miss some answers as the audio
will be played only once in the exam centre.
You have to make sure that you get the first 10 and the last 10 questions
always right. As they are fill in the blanks and easy to answer as
compared to other parts of the test
READING
The Reading module has 3 passage in total. In my experience I found
reading the most tiring and time taking. The passages get harder and
harder as you move up the list. You will have to dedicate exactly a
complete 1 hour for your reading session.
Most of us aren’t fond of reading thus have limited reading skills.
You have to make sure that you set a timer on your mobile and keep track
of your time.
