Central Maryland Region Uses “Perfect Fit” 619 Audio Bridge for Re‐Banding Program

To meet the FCC mandate, a Central Maryland Public Safety works needed to re‐band their radios without a loss of
service. Audio bridges were used at each repeater site and linking was arranged to form two talk groups on each bridge.
This enabled old and new narrow band frequencies to run in parallel and each group’s audio was combined at the
repeater site. They were then able to gradually introduce the new radios across multiple budget periods allowing them
to meet the FCC mandate on time and at a lower overall cost.
