Change is inevitable some things change for the best some change for the

worst but our country needs change that is both for the best and for the worst. The

Philippines is always been an agrarian/agricultural country that depends on its lands

in order to prosper. Crops, fishes, grains and live stocks are the Philippines crown

jewel in terms of export and trade during the 20th century when we are still ahead

of the economical race here in Asia, but now we are the once lagging on the last

place of the laps for we do not cope on the changes the game works, we still stick to

the old fashion Carabaos instead of industrialized ploughing machines that will boost

the speed of work of our farmers and because The farmers lack support, training and

a moral boost. They also lack basic skills in farming for some farmers now a days

chose other profession rather than farming itself. Most of them has a low educational

attainment in some cases our farmers are only elementary graduates. Second, the

Philippines lack good fertilizers, pesticides and seeds that results to importation from

other countries, making them very expensive and unaffordable for the lowly farmer.

Third, the government has not developed a good infrastructure for farmers like farm-

to-market roads, irrigation system, drying facilities and milling centres, etc. our
country has gone through five land reform programs since the 1950s. but we are still

struggling to find the answer we needed maybe it’s time to cut the ties with land

reform programs and make a new bond with economic industrialization, for the past

land reform acts did not gave us the solution maybe our government should try a

different approach in answering this dilemma. By supporting and providing new up

to dates farming machines to our local farmers, providing enough knowledge on how

to properly use them and maintaining them by conducting seminars and hands on

training to the said farmers, second is by providing the necessary infrastructure

needed for delivery and cultivating of crops and grains for examples are farm-to-

market roads and milling centres. Our government should stick to the resources that

we have, we keep on idolizing the industrialization advancement of the western

countries that we forgot where we came from that this poor and lowly farmers are

the greatest blessing and contributors in our economy, it is necessary to help them,

to support them and to encourage them in all ways possible for once they fall, we

too will suffer and face the consequences we long avoided.
