ABSTRACT
The Researchers aimed to develop a new product that will benefit the students like us. To

this objective our group comes up with the idea to make glue out of milk. Glue has been an

important material at home, offices and mostly in school. Most of the commercially made glue

stated that it is non-toxic, However we are still uncertain if this claim since glue contains

preservatives and other toxic chemicals.

Casein, a protein obtained from milk, has been long proven to play an important role in

making and production of glue. It can be obtained when putting a vinegar into the milk. It can

create a chemical reaction which makes the milk to separate into two parts, a solid (the curds),

and a liquid (the whey). The curds are milk protein called, Casein. Liquid Casein is a natural

glue.

When we add the baking soda it neutralizes the vinegar (which is acidic). The bubbles are

caused by carbon dioxide gas being pulled off as part of the reaction. The curds form a liquid

again after being neutralized. The produced glue from milk may vary in consistency depending

upon the amount of milk, vinegar, water and baking soda used. Other Researchers conducted is

waterproof and can be used for bottle labelling. The product is produced by our group is cheap

and effective.

II. INTRODUCTION
ARISTOTLE 1
Glue is one of the most dominant material that is customarily used in school particularly

in art works, it can also be used in many ways like sticking notes, fixing broken tool, and many

more. For an average student, lack of glue supply is not a serious case especially when they don’t

Know the importance of glue in our community.

For students like us it is also important to share information to our fellow students to

make them value an important tool such as glue. Just think of our community with students that

are not using sticking tool, so if you have a problem in relation to “glue” well, your in a right

place to solve your problem.

In this research paper you will learn how to make homemade glue out of milk that will

really help you in having glue. And this can also be a guide to students who are getting hard of

having school materials. Homemade glue out of milk materials is not a problem, because milk

in our society is very commonit's always visible in our area because it's always used by children

for this generation, and if we do not have milk you can even buy a small pouch that are always

available in small stalls and “sari-sari” stores.

III. Review of Related Literature

Milk is a white liquid produced by the mammary glands of mammals. It is the primary

source of nutrition for young mammals before they are able to digest other types of food. Early-

lactation milk contains colostrum, which carries the mother's antibodies to the baby and can

reduce the risk of many diseases in the baby. It also contains many other nutrients.

As an agricultural product, milk is extracted from mammals during or soon after

pregnancy and used as food for humans. Are liquids consisting mainly of acetic acid

(CH3COOH,) and water. The acetic acid is produced by the fermentation of ethanol by acetic

acid bacteria.

Vinegar is now mainly used as a cooking ingredient, but historically, as the most easily

available mild acid, it had a great variety of industrial, medical, and domestic uses, some of

which (such as a general household cleanser) are still promoted today. Baking soda or Sodium

Bicarbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3.

Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder.

It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate). The

natural mineral form is nahcolite. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved

in many mineral springs.

IV. Problem Statement

ARISTOTLE 3
What is more effective glue out of milk or market glue?

Hypothesis

Glue out of milk is as effective as the commercially available glue.

V. METHODOLOGY

ARISTOTLE 4
Materials:

-Milk (Skimmed Milk) -Pan

-White Vinegar -Water

-Baking Soda -Strainer

Procedure:

We Prepared the saucepan and the stove. After that we poured 1 cup milk into the saucepan. then

we added 3 Teaspoon of vinegar. We removed the curdles from the pan and strained it. Then we

added 1 tablespoon of baking soda Then we waited until it boils. When bubbles appeared it

means your done.

VI. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

As we conducted the experiment, we found out that glue out of milk needs a specific

kind of milk, which is skimmed milk. We further found out that if it is other kinds of milk, it did

not have any chemical reaction to become glue.

ARISTOTLE 5
The glue out of milk is effective like the commercial glue but it is not as durable as the

commercial glue. It only lasted 3-4 days as long as it is in a safe jar. Unlike the commercial glue

it lasts more than a year because the commercial glue has more toxic yet effective chemicals that

makes them more sticky and preserved like Ethanol, Xylene ,Light aliphatic naphtha, N-hexane

and Toluene. While the glue out of milk will only last 3-4 days because it does not have any toxic

chemicals.

VII. CONCLUSION

Based from the result of the experiment, we therefore conclude that both kinds of

glue are equally effective. Both the commercial glue and the glue out of milk have

advantages and disadvantages. The commercial glue sticks faster but it is more

expensive, while the glue out of milk does not stick as fast as the commercial glue but it

is cheaper and non-toxic.

VIII. RECOMMENDATIONS

Based from the result and conclusion, it therefore recommended that:

Students should learn how to make this homemade glue so they can make their own since they

can find the materials and ingredients anywhere and they can also save money;
ARISTOTLE 6
Science teachers may also encourage their students to do this kind of research trying other

ingredients to find out better results;

Parents should support and keep on encouraging their children to make their own homemade

glue since it is cheaper and non-toxic;
