Biography

Marco Alessandro Cecchetti Marquez, Mexico City, 1984.

2012. - His work Ecos for Orchestra is selected to be performed in the XXXIV International Forum
of New Music Manuel Enriquez in the most important halls within Mexico.

2011. - His work Ecos for Orchestra is selected in the 2nd International Composition Competition
Antonín Dvorák, and assists to the final phase in Prague, Czech Republic.
- Integrates the teaching staff of the Centre for Research and Study of Music (CIEM) in Mexico City
by taking the chair of composition for young students.

2010. - Obtains a Licenciate Diploma in Music Composition at Trinity College London and Center
for Research and Studies of Music.
- The string quartet secreto de secretos is selected to be performed in the XXXII International
Forum of New Music Manuel Enriquez at the Xochipilli Auditorium of National School of Music in
Mexico City.
- Takes part of the course of Contemporary Guitar Techniques taught by maestro Pablo Gomez
Cano. Develops a work within the workshop, Ecos morfológicos for guitar, and records at CIEM’s
studio.

2009. - His work for Divided Chorus a Cappella Jugamos fuera del tiempo… is selected to be
performed in the XXXI International Forum of New Music Manuel Enriquez at the Arts Auditorium
of National Centre of Arts in Mexico City.
- Enters to Specialized Music Pedagogy classes taught by Honoris Causa Ms. Maria Antonieta
Lozano head leader of CIEM.

2008. - Forms part of the Mexico's production team for the First Composition Award
Janacek-Revueltas 2008, a cultural exchange between Czech Republic and Mexico.
- His work for Piano and Bass-Baritone Li-Po gets fifth place in the First Composition Award
Janacek-Revueltas 2008 and is interpreted and radio broadcasted in the most important recital
halls of Czech Republic and Mexico City.
- Participates in the course of Composition Techniques for Piano and Baritone issued by Czech
Republic’s duo Skarka-Pohl.

2007. - Attends classes in Contemporary Composition Techniques for Concert Accordion given by
Eva Zöllner (Germany). Develops a miniature work within the workshop, Los siete enanos for
Concert Accordion, and have a lecture of the work in Blas Galindo Auditorium at National Centre
of Arts in Mexico City.

2006. - Gets a diploma with merit at 8th level of Music Theory at The Associated Board of the
Royal Scools of Music.
